I've never been able to get into black metal. For one thing, I don't like most of the vocal styles - altho I do enjoy Lordi, so I dunno.

I don't mind vocals or music, I just can't take lyrics seriously. One of the best black metal albums "Transilvanian Hunger" by Dark Throne is actually very decent - dark, atmospheric and melodic. Samael is another black metal band which I do not mind listening from time to time.

That's the other thing. Lyrically, most of it just seems petulant.
