Looking at the Rotation and a couple of questions

I think the following are set into stone for rotation:

Conley 32/
Mitchell 32/
Bogdonavic 32/ O'Neale 16
/
Gobert 32/ Davis 16

Question 1: Do we start Ingles or Green/Niang?

Green and Niang would play backup minutes with the starters and Ingles could bolster the bench. And finish games.

Question 2: Who is the backup point guard Exum, Mitchell or Mudiay?

Personally I think we try Exum first and hope we can get him going. Mudiay is a big wild card. And Mitchell is our backup plan.

Question 3: Who plays the backup shooting guard minutes?

My guess is it would be a combination of O'Neale and Exum depending on the matchup. If we are playing Lou Williams then exum. DeRozan take O'Neale.

What is the best rotation for the Jazz? If we try to play Mitchell at PG then we have to play Niang and Jeff Green more. So are Exum/Mudiay/O'Neale better than Niang?
I think that we start
Conley
Mitchell
Bojan
Green
Gobert

Exum is the backup point guard but gets a few minutes at the 2. (Mitchell is probably the third string point guard)
Oneal is the backup 2 but gets some minutes and 3 and maybe even 4.
Jingles is the backup 3 and runs the offense when Exum is in cause we don't trust him to totally run the offense.
Niang gets some backup minutes at the 4 and so does a whole bunch of dudes. Backup 4 minutes are the most up for grabs. Davis, bojan, niang, Royce, Ingles and rookies all gonna be vying for those minutes.

Rudy, Davis, Bradley is the easiest position to predict imo.

I figure mudiay, Bradley and the rooks only play in blowouts or if there are injuries.

Having some fun. Here's my dunkers and 3ball lineup. :)

Donovan Mitchell
Miye Oni
Royce Oneal
Jarrel Brantley
Jeff Green

One thing I'm watching... I wonder if we go get a more traditional 4 with the last roster spot. I figure two of the second round guys (likely Oni and Brantley) make the roster and then we have one last roster spot. I think JWF gets a two way.

I wonder if Kidd or King have a shot at making the team. I'd give either guy a two-way if they'd take it. King is a little more intriguing than Kidd to me. If we had Oni we'd have one developmental 3 and D guy on the roster so I'm not sure you carry two guys like that or go for something more proven or get some variety.

I don't think the last roster spot goes to a pg... I think backup pg will be Exum or Mudiay when Exum gets hurt. I think having a thick wing would be good and Kidd/King could be a good gamble.

Is there any more smoke coming from this Troy Williams thing?

Who’s a traditional 4 we could get at this point?

Haven't seen anything... that was a pure guess based on where a guy was sitting at summer league doe.

Green is older. Let him start, use up his energy against opposing 4s until he is gassed (~20 min), then close with Bogey.

Bogey is strong enough to close at the 4 and be effective defensively. Pairing him with Ingles to close out games makes us unstoppable offensively, so do that.

Royce can come in for Mitchell and pair with Mitchell when Conley sits. All other PGs should get garbage time.

Dante is the main backup PG along with DM and Ingles. Ingles comes off the bench. Green and Bogie start. O'neale gets minutes at 4 and 2, Mudiay spot minutes unless he really shows something. Goal is to have 1 or 2 of DM, Conley, and Ingles on the court at all the time. The rest depends on any other signings and which of the 2nd rounders make the team this year.

Answer 1: I would be surprised if Joe started, I think we bring him off the bench for 28 MPG and token start Jeff Green.

Answer 2: I'm sure Donovan will get minutes at PG but it looks like all signs point to Exum as the backup PG.

Answer 3: I think you nailed it, I would expect Royce to get significant minutes this year at the wing. Exum can also play off the ball.

Dudes, Exum had patella ligament surgery in spring, he most likely will not be ready to play in October. Thus Mudiay will be backup PG ( as it should anyway).

i look at it like this

Conley, Exum, Mudiay
Mitchell, O'Neale, Oni
Bogdanovic, Ingles
Green, Niang, Brantley
Gobert Davis, Bradley

That is how I see the Depth Chart and I expect Conley, Mitchell, Ingles, Bogdanovic, Gobert to finish the game.

This looks right, but I'll pencil in Oni and Brantley, even if they spend time in the G-league.
