tbh I'd be petty too if I was the only one playing defense and watched my teammates not have my back on rebounds after I force misses, or watched my teammates go full hero mode to lose us the game.
Donovan don't give a ****. He has no allegiance to this team or city. He gets paid regardless. Shorter playoffs mean more off season for him to act like an off court prima donna. Knicks will be a perfect fit for him.
This stuff is 100% on Quin. Yes, it’s the players who end up doing it. But the fail safe for recognizing and correcting that is on the coach. It’s literally his job. Since last year, everyone has been obfuscating this point and continued to point fingers at players. The collective psychology is on the shoulder of the coach.
This is another issue that, superficially, is Donovan. But the real person indicted on this repetitive pattern is Quin. It’s on him to correct that. If the players can’t do it or he can’t get through to them to do it, he can’t coach. There really aren’t any excuses there. May as well not have a coach. Save Ryan some money.
It's not even about being given the ball. Would you continue to work like a madman on defense if no one else on the team is putting in any effort in that department?
I guess but also he fumbled the ball like 4 times two games ago and got stuffed at the rim by Batum, committed a travel that went uncalled, had a terrible pass where he got caught in the air, and had a turnover on a not great call for an offensive foul… he sucks with the ball unless it’s just catch and dunk which is the thing every team tries to prevent. Even if he had that stupid flip shot Hartenstein and Poetl have he could get a ton more shots.
Everyone on this team is to blame… coaches are also at blame. Just need to go scorched earth and rebuild. I’m now rooting for us to just lose every game so management and ownership get the message.
