Shall we revisit this topic? Lets take a walk down memory lane.
Barnes just turned 25. He's got championship experience and a Gold Medal.
Coming off a career-year in many statistical categories, 19.2 PPG. He's able to flex to both forward positions. Plays strong defense, rebounds well.
Costs $23MM this coming season, $24MM the season after that then holds a player option for $25MM that surely he'll decline in the summer of 2019.
Also with the Favors injury he'd have been able to get plenty of starts and an easy 30MPG.

Sure, let's revisit it. Hayward leaving has zero bearing on Barnes still not being worth a max contract.
