Metta 'WORLD PEACE' cheap shot on James Harden

Thought it was an accident at first, but the fact the Artest didnt even look back or react after hitting Harden tells me otherwise. Not premeditated, but he knew somebody was there and that they'd likely get hit.

It seemed like a classic Ron-Ron moment. He got caught in the moment and was way too hyped and didn't think clearly.

I know a lot of people hate MWP, but I don't think he is a bad dude. He is just straight up crazy.

Why Harden tried to shove MWP in the first place? Beardman tried to play tough but had it backfired. This doesn't excuse MWP by all means but I find it ironic.

Keep seeing people say this in various places and it is ridiculous. Harden was obviously just trying to get around Ron Artest ASAP so the Thunder could get the ball inbounds and down the court as fast as possible. You get someone show-boating after a dunk on one of your best players, all you want to do is get the ball in and down the court and something going to silence the crowd.

Trying avoid Artest how? By moving sideways into running Artest cutting him off and putting elbow to the chest level? C'mon. I've seen Hayward being bumped like that after his fast break dunk few times. It was clearly an attempt to deliver some sort of message and it was FAIL.

Mwp is a dirty hack I wish they would ban him. Anyone see the interview ill give him this he's a better liar than ball player

This clown should be banned from the league. His history and this incident clearly indicate he does not belong. If he plays a single game in the playoffs or the 1st half of next season it is a shame on the league.

Taking into account how awkward and uncoordinated he is when he is actually playing basketball, I don't think that was intentional. I'm fine with suspending him, but I really don't think he tried to elbow him in the back of the head.

Tried to hit the head or not. He felt somebody bump him and decided to throw a high and as hard as he can elbow at the person making contact. Unacceptable. I really don't think he should be allowed back in the league at all. With his history and this incident.

Frankly, they could stop this aggressive play/celebration stuff by first of all banning or calling technical's EVERY TIME these clowns hang on the rim like freakin *****. (I was going to make reference to a certain "primate" that swings from trees...but I'm trying to avoid another warning!) Don't give me that crap that "they do it to prevent an injury" stuff....cause it just ain't true!

Who would've thunk that name would come back to bite him in the ***? I think you guys are overdoing it though. I'd say about 5 games sounds right. Let him sit the final regular season game and then 4 playoff games.

Okay, ladies.. I had to do it.

If this were a 1st time offense I'd be inclined to agree with you. But it is far from a 1st time offense.

What I think WILL happen? He'll be suspended for just a few games. Stern doesn't want to hurt the Lakers anymore than he has to. Especially after the CP3 debacle...

What I think should happen? Artest should be suspended for at least 10 games. That hit was vicious.

What I wish would happen? Artest be banned from the league. He has missed 111 games in his career. This is the 13th time he has been suspended. That elbow could have destroyed Harden's face just like Rudy T's. How many more times are we going to tolerate this punk? Will he finally be banned once he kills someone? If that was Lebron, I wonder if the league would come down any harder? He could be banned and no one would care. It's not like we're banning a hall of famer or anything here.

What I think should happen? Artest should be kicked out of the league!
What I wish would happen? Artest should have to scrap all of his tattoo's off his body with a broken beer bottle!

....just a little editing here.

Which is exactly why he should be banned.

Does he have to end someone's career with his craziness before Stern has had enough?

He has been suspended for over 100 games!

Ron Artest offers nothing to the league other than embarrassment. He has long ago become a hazard to fans and players.

This isn't basketball:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBx8LSwqRpE&feature=related (Artest vs Harpring. Embarrassing. Oh, and he throws elbows. Could have injured Harpring. Disrupts the game by holding onto the ball and taunting the crowd like some pro wrestler. The game gets completely out of control mostly because of Artest's taunting and inability to control emotions).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1LAO1lXCPY&feature=related (Artest makes no attempt at the ball and knocks over KG in the air. That's not basketball)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5fTDxDVLK0&feature=related (Makes no attempt at the ball and clotheslines Amare)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUMCNqhEXlE&feature=related (Makes no attempt to get the rebound, just comes in and smashes Gerald Wallace in the back. Even the announcers say that Artest was trying to provoke a fight. That's not basketball)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3fg6ZbobZw&feature=related (doesn't box out Lebron but gets him in a headlock)

How many more times does this moron need to lose his mind before we can finally kick him out? The league loses NOTHING by kicking him out. He can't score, he can't shoot, his defense is overrated, and he is a complete embarrassment and hazard to players and fans.

If Stern won't end his career, I hope that someone else does. Hopefully next time Ibaka will get a few good shots in. Ibaka is a friggin badass.

The irony here is that we are all Karl Malone fans.

I would ban Artest at least through the 1st round of the playoffs, potentially through the 2nd round.

There isn't any irony here. I can't think of a time that Malone injured someone without making a basketball play.

Not dirty at all. He went to block his shot and missed. Take the ball among the trees you run the risk of getting your *** kicked...

Ron Artest clotheslining someone, hitting them square in the back, pulling their pants down, starting fights, fighting fans, and throwing an elbow at Harden's head aren't even comparable.

What bigman isn't taught to do what Malone just did to protect the ball? If you watch tomorrow's game you will see Lopez, Millsap, Favors, Kanter (especially Kanter) do this exact same basketball move in order to protect the ball.

It was a foul and they got him for it. Should have been a flagrant 1. Even Kerr said that Malone shouldn't have been ejected. While no one believes that Artest should have remained in yesterday's game.

Huge difference between making a basketball play (and accidentally injuring someone) and making a complete attack on someone with the intent to incite a riot/injure (as Artest has done multiple MULTIPLE times in his career.

Stick Elbows Out

Your Elbows are utilized as a third protective mechanism that will secure the ball firmly in your hands. As soon as you have rebounded the ball and tucked it under your chin and against your body, simply extend your elbows out in order to discourage your Opponent’s wondering hands trying to scoop the ball out of your grasp.

However, be very careful not to swing your elbows around too much once you have pulled down the rebound, as this may lead to an offensive foul being called on you, and can also injure other players.

Malone got caught fouling. And they got him for it. It's too bad that Nash got bloodied up. But that's part of the game.

Malone just disguised his better, and never hit anyone in the soft spot that MWP did.

The one on Thomas may have been by mistake, but I'm not sure. The one on Nash was for sure intentional. Don't sugar coat it. I still like Malone, but the dude used force with his elbow. Just because he covered it up in the setting of "making a basketball play" doesn't make it acceptable. If someone did that to Stockton, you would be up in arms about how dirty a play it was.

But keep living in denial that Malone didn't have his fair share of "dirty" moments.
