There is some argument that Bledsoe is firmly a point guard while Burks is in something of a transitional state at the position. That said, Bledsoe's per 36 averages aren't exactly well above several recent Burks stat lines.

Burks shooting appears to be a significant weakness by comparison to Bledsoe but Burks' percentages have strongly spiked in the last month and a half with increased playing time. Is there any place I could view what Burks' PER is measured at just for the last six weeks? Any way I could compare that to Bledsoe's PER during the period when he was starting as Chris Paul was injured? I have a suspicion these numbers would not make us think well of a Bledsoe trade.
 
I'm against trading Burks for anyone not named LeBron, Durant or Kyrie. He's as untouchable as the rest of the Core Four.

He's not "hot" right now - he's just a good young player who needs minutes and needs to get the rock. Even with Mo and Gordo back healthy, Alec needs to play.

Not liking that all his comparables are guys who bit it hard due to injury. Terrell Brandon was on that list too.

Don't know that it's fair to compare Bledsoe to Harris. They're both fast and not great shooters, but Bledsoe makes his living on defense whereas Harris was never a great defender as far as I can remember.
 
Harris was pretty much known and lauded for his defense when he was in Dallas. Like that was his thing. He lost it somewhere in NJ.
 
I just found out about this possible deal and I'm not going back through 36 pages of this thread. We have to close on this.

Keep Burks out of the deal. Dangle Hayward, but try to extract maximum return for a Hayward/Sap package. But at the end of the day, we gotta close on Bledsoe.

Trade Hayward for Bledsoe? I wouldn't do that straight up.

I'd do it at the last second. But I'm not talking about a straight swap.

They want Sap. The talk is the Jazz might have to send back Burks along with Sap. I'd swap out Hayward for Burks in that scenario, but then try to steal the leverage back. But no matter what the final package looks like, I'd much rather give up Hayward to get Bledsoe than Burks.

Is there a link to a reliable source claiming the Clips want Burks?.....and giving up Hayward is not an option. Dumb Dumb Dumb.
