Milsap Extension?

Once free agency starts, Paul Millsap will attempt to negotiate a contract extension with the #UtahJazz. If a deal can't be reached, a variety of options will be explored. The only thing that'll change this is if Millsap is traded before free agency begins July 1. The veteran power forward wants to continue his career with Utah and hopes he can find middle ground with the Jazz.

I remember the last time Paul thought he was underpaid and tried to find the 'Middle ground' with the Jazz. Better to trade him now?

I think what Utah does with Millsap hinges on this:

"Brian T. Smith: Whether Lillard's taken before No. 8 will likely impact any attempt made by Jazz to move up in first round of ‪#NBA‬ draft and select him."

I see we've already turned on Millsap? I for one hope he's extended and that Al is traded.

Since the other P3 thread fell off the front page it appears Millsap is there as well now.

Very first article, right at the top. Also lists some before mentioned Favors info.

I love Paul. I want him extended and I hope he finishes his career in Utah....for the right price. If he wants too much (more than 9 a year), if he thinks he won't transition to the bench IF Kanter passes him, OR if we get a deal we can't turn away (ie, if the Jazz think Lilliard is a starting pg for the next 8 years), then I wouldn't mind seeing him leave.

He is what he is, and that is a very effective starter, that should transition to the bench in a couple of years when Kanter develops. If he is ok with that, I am ok with that.

Not a single person has 'turned' on Millsap. EVERY person would rather trade Al. What you're seeing is realistic talk.

Thank you. I haven't heard one Jazz fan say that they'd rather trade Millsap and keep Al. I've mentioned a couple ideas to trade Millsap, and it seems like the next post will almost always be a long the lines of, "I'd rather trade Al." Well no @#$% Sherlock, but my guess is that given that 99% of Jazz nation wants to move Al, that there aren't 29 other teams clamoring to pry him away from us.

Paul would fit a lot more systems, and he has a great contract. We'd all love to move Al, but as PKM simply stated, it's a lot more realistic to consider moving Paul.

Um, I was talking about utahjazz107's post. Calm down. I'm sure none of you ever turned on a loyal player who's done so much for the Jazz for no reason what so ever. ;)

F CJ Miles. There I said it.
