Name a better wing rotation than Hayward Hood Burks

Imagine the response to the Early season Hood slump if we had other players here. Dude would lose confidence, maybe even be shipped off.

why do you think the Jazz have been the talk of the league with young player development? It's because of **** like this. How Favors and Hayward were dealt with.
 
Btw, those saying that we wouldn't have to be watching ingles and cj play so much if we had more talented wings need to realize that ingles and cj as 4th wings filling in for your injured 3rd wing are about as good as any other team would have im guessing.

Someone look at the 4th wing on some other teams and see if they are heads and shoulders better than cj and ingles.

Maybe try memphis, Washington, Boston, and Portland. Who are their 4th wings? (That's a good mix of easy and west teams in the playoff hunt)

PS I have not looked at any of those teams rosters to know who the 4th wings are so I promise I have not cherry picked those teams. I might end up looking foolish and wrong bit I doubt it.
4th wings are usually not very good I would think

Hood wasn't very good at the beginning of the year, he's started turning it on now. If he was playing this well and we had signed somebody else, I think Snyder would start the better player. Again, you act like if we had signed somebody it means that Hood wouldn't improve or start. The first suggestion is definitely false, and I think the probability of the second suggestion being false is quite high.

Or maybe the competition would push him more, and he would've improved faster. Maybe he wouldn't have had a slump. We don't know. To blindly state otherwise is foolish.

And that's why this clearly not a clear science-- otherwise every NBA GM would be successful. It's all situational and contextual. Sometimes you get burned, sometimes you don't.


Drafting a center in Rudy even though we had Kanter? Smart.

Signing Tobias or Wes to a near-max? Moronic.

By waiting out an extra season and providing these unknown players with the opportunities to show us their talents, we can better assess their talents, and better construct a roster for a proper championship run in the next year.

Don't know off the top of my head, although this is the appropriate thread for that discussion. I don't really watch enough basketball anymore to be terribly confident in my player assessments.

The best, potentially signable (i.e., not Kevin Durant) free agent wings this summer are Nic Batum and Harrison Barnes. Either might be a better fit with their size/defense and feel. Alec is better creating his own offense, however, which might be needed off the bench. I'm just not sold on the Burke-Burks combo, and think the Jazz could use a quality wing defender who isn't a HUGE minus offensively.

Favors and Hayward played behind established veterans their first three seasons (more true of Favors, although Gordo started fewer than half his games through season 3).

Many examples where this hasn't happened. Young players get shipped off, and explode once given the proper opportunity to succeed.

I agree with this though I hear barnes wants max money. I think Burks at 10 million is better than barnes at 20
 
1) Dallas way overpaid for Matthews, his market price was not what he got paid. But I agree that it was foolish.

2) If we had signed Harris, which I wouldn't have loved, and drafted Booker, it wouldn't be that bad overall. I prefer Lyles to Harris, mainly because he can actually pass and his versatility, but it really wouldn't be that bad.

And you and others act like it's just common and simple to have 4 wings all as good as or better than burks.

I would like to hear some 4th wings on other teams that are good and just chilling happily on the bench
