NBA rule changes and how it will impact the jazz.

I wish they would outlaw the James Harden backwards travel. The refs already give him more free throw attempts than any player in the NBA (4 straight years he has averaged over 10 free throw attempts per game).

I wish they would have changed the rule that allows someone to inbound the ball via a roll to the player and that player can trot along side it to half court or whatever before picking it up to save shot clock time. Drives me nuts. That should count against the five-second rule imo.

Of course the way to stop that is just to have the defensive team challenge the player, making him move towards the inbounder to receive the ball.

Seems like an weird thing to get upset about.

I think they call the first two a gather... the rules on this stuff are so dumb. If a big plants and leaves his pivot he gets called almost every time... if you catch and go it’s a travel when you switch feet... go backwards and move both feet twice... nah that’s a gather. It’s like the catch rule in the nfl.
