The younger you are, the less likely you are to die from COVID-19 (great name for a band, by the way). If you have some underlying medical issues or are older, you should be more careful than usual. Otherwise, things appear to be trending down in China in terms of cases. That said, this will get worse in the US before it gets better.

I think the main thing is controlling the spread of the virus. However this is a serious virus for older people and those not healthy for example those with asthma or diabetes are at great risk of getting a severe case of Coronavirus. Someone can spread the virus before they even sow symptoms of it from what I read. Someone tell me if I’m wrong. That is a huge concern. I’m not worried whether I contract it or not, but I would be if my wife who has asthma.

It's not so much older people than it is people with preexisting conditions or very weak immune systems.

Just use your brain about stuff and double up on hand washing and you'll likely be fine.

The flu kills more people per year, and has been around a long time. We have medicines to combat the effects of the flu and have for years.
The Corona virus spreads faster than any other virus that we've seen and we know little to nothing about it.
What we do know, is that it spreads fast and is resilient to methods that kill the common flu virus easily. We also know little about how it spreads and how long the virus stays alive without attaching itself to a host.
Its killed world renowned doctors that started studying its effects. The flu virus rarely to almost never has had that effect.
This virus effects the lungs first and the flu doesn't. My young daughter has a chronic asthma disorder and if she gets the corona virus she will die immediately, whereas the flu she has had twice and survived both.

The USA needs to be more like South Korea than Italy in this case.

italy’s whole country is on lock down because one of the best healthcare system in the world is being over run and about to collapse.

The danger of this virus is not how many it kills, it how highly contagious it is (3 to 5 times more contagious than the flu) which can cause a major run on hospital systems, who are dealing with the normal winter illness that keep many hospital system at near full capacity.

If Italy didn’t do a full lock down you would’ve seen the death toll rise quickly, not from Coronavirus, but those with other ailments who wouldn’t be able to get their normal treatment.

I'm wondering how the league will pick up the pieces. I saw some players twitter feeds that they won't get paid while operations are suspended. Also what do they do about playoffs if any?

My dad told me the virus is ending in China. And that in a month or so it won’t be a concern in USA as well. I googled it but found nothing. He said he heard it on CNN, I scoffed at that as I don’t trust the news as far as I can throw it.

It is true that new cases in China are dramatically down. Does your dad have any idea what kind of measures China took which enabled that?
