NBA Summer League Wild Overreaction Thread

Ace's isolation/self creation game may or may not come around, but he can do so much on the court with his size and athleticism. Last night he was playing a lot like Lauri. He has a lot of potential on the defensive end as well. I think it's really important that he embraces this side of the game and doesn't try to chase being an iso scorer.

Mix in some mid post stuff with the Lauri stuff off of actions and the clean up stuff... I think its a recipe for a 20/8 guy with decent efficiency that can scale. His passing has been good so I think there is some self control in there... for now.

The post, iso stuff needs to be dessert... the other stuff is the main course.

Yeah....I don't mind mixing it in a bit. Just needs to keep the main thing the main thing. I think he needs to get physically stronger before he can have any kind of success in isolation anyways. He needs to be able to embrace the contact instead of using his gifts to fade away from the defense.

and his rookie season

20 ppg on 43/28 shooting splits, 51% TS, 4 rebs, 2 assists, 3 TOs per game. As great as KD is, it took him a second to get going.

he took a monster leap during his second season however. that's where he pulled away from the pack and started to become who he is.

Elijah Harkless could replace Cason Wallace for OKC and they wouldn't notice much difference

I’ll admit that I wanted Kas with #21, and that I was wrong and I’m incredibly happy the Jazz were aggressive and moved up to get WCJ ahead of Miami and before Golden Stare could get involved. He’s going to be an incredibly solid player - which is a steal at #18.
It's been a few summer league games, lol.

Agreed, and he had a rough go through the first half of last night, but based on his college tape (especially through the tournament) and in limited flashes so far. . . I’m confident in my assessment. Some guys have that “It” factor - he has it in spades.
