What's new

Need new basketball shoes - advice please!

The trade-off is usually flexibility vs. support. So if you don't play a guard-role, and your ankles are a bit on the fragile side, I'd stay away from shoes like the kobes, the hyperizes, and maybe even the hyperdunks.

Hyperdunks are my shoe of choice, personally. I've heard that the Lebron is quite good for those with ankle problems, due to their tremendous support.

It's hard to say though. I only really know my nike shoes, personally (worked at the Nike store for >2 years)

Thanks, I do play PG and still have very decent vertical so sometimes landing on other people feet is a bit of a risk... I looked at some Nike's but there were only few choices in Sport check and I they did not impress me as much as Adidas.

These are the hyperdunks I was talking about. They sell here in Edmonton at the Nike store for 79.99. Its too bad you live in Calgary though. But if you really need a pair for a while, its something to consider. Its less than half price. They're a great, great shoe. Similar to the Rose, IIRC.

well, for that price I think it is a steal.

Definitely is. The colourway is all black. But they're the same shoe. My little brother just bought it for himself (he plays PG). 2013 model, lunarlon foam. All the good stuff

Just looked up the Reebok Questions(Iversons) price range. $85-135 or so depending on size and color. Not horrible, considering they've probably been out of production for years. I might have to pick up pair once my current bbal shoes bite the dust.

So I ended up with these.... in store price was 99.99, got them online for 69.99. Played couple games already, fits like a glove, great traction control, light on the feet, overall very happy, now the only question how long they will last.
