What's new

Neto

Will he ever learn to shoot? Discuss.

He shoots okay set shots but he takes forever to get them off. When he drives to the hoop and shoots it reminds me of **** I used to do when I was a kid playing with older kids. You drive and get stuck and throw up something weird that is aimed in the general direction of the backboard and hoop.

Neto is not that good and doesn't have a high ceiling. I like him as my third pg, but don't expect much else.

He's definitely in a BIG slump, no made shots in 2 games now and last night air balled 3 shots, 2x of which where wide open practice shot 3's.

He is shooting %39 from 3 this year.

37%

Deceptively high number. He only takes wide open shots and was hot on them in December. He is shooting 33% on wide open 3's in January, which is still probably a higher % than it should be.

He is just pressing. He is a rookie after all. He takes some dumb shots after he misses, kinda like Trey but not as much. His misses are also horrific which makes you think he is a much worse shooter than he is.

Neto sucks, but one thing I like about him is his driving ability with court vision. I wish Exum had half the ability that Neto does.

Kinda hard to remember, but dante had a game with 12 assists last year. Raul hasn't sniffed anything close to that.

Neto looked really tired. He really was making a focused effort on D. Neto is a subpar shooter, but decent on D and is a good passer. I think he is running up against the rookie wall. The NBA has a tough schedule.

And he is 54/72 of NBA point guards in true shooting percentage, below 50%. That ain't good. https://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/position/pg/sort/trueShootingPct/page/2

If he can learn to shoot better, he's an NBA player. If he can't then he'll wash out quickly in my opinion.
