Never Trump

Please explain to us how supporting a Berlin style Wall on the border with Mexico is libertarian. You're trying to be a troll(as usual)and right now you're failing. To be a successful troll you need to find an almost logical yet still irrational argument. Right now you're just reaching.

To be fair it's pretty much the opposite of a Berlin style wall which was for keeping people in. It's more like a China style wall or an Israel style wall.

Do you think the USSR sold the legitimacy of the Berlin wall as a way to keep people in or as a protection against the other? Politically it is the Berlin wall regardless of what it evolves into as practice.

I would say that the California-Texas Wall is nothing like the Great Wall of China. China had a legitimate reason to fear Mongolian aggression(and walls/archers were the military technology of its day, there were plenty of gates for trade in the GWOC).

The wall Trump wants to build is symbolic. It has zero chance of making any difference in regard to illegal immigration.

The solution to our illegal immigration policy is to allow much more immigration legally and to provide the infrastructure to process the people coming in. The biggest benefit to switching to a legal immigration system instead of our current system that makes illegal the workers we need in many industries, is that we can set the criteria and prioritize the types of immigrants that we want, while providing the workers we need via a legitimate path to entry.

Great Wall is a symbol more of slavery (similar to the Pyramids, really) than anything. So many holes in it that is didn't have much, if any effect, of blocking any raiding party from coming in.

As much as I recoil at everything Trump seems to represent, scenes like this in San Jose last night only play directly into Trump's hands. It may be true to say that if Trump had not launched his campaign with inflammatory and hateful rhetoric, scenes like this would not mar his rallies. Even if there is truth to that, people are responsible for their actions, and the onus is on them for behavior like this....

It plays right into his hands. All he has to do is point and say "See! I told you"
