Trying to find a better link, I know I've read them but for the moment that was the first one I found and the first few paragraphs you can gloss over. But Jerry Chambers (named tourny MVP), Billie McGill and George Fisher (who broke his leg) are the 3 I believe started.
Also the 1943-44 Ute team that won the NCAA championship also had the first Japanese player to be drafted into the NBA. A bit ironically lost to KU in the NIT quarterfinal game but the NCAA needed a replacement team so they took the Utes who went on to win it.
