Aaron Rodgers is not a pure pocket passer. I don't care how bad your running game is, when your QB leads the team in rushing yards on the season, the guy has got some legs and knows how to use them.

While there haven't been many (or any?) great pocket passers that could also run, that doesn't mean that an ability to run is an impediment in anyway.

Ben Roethleiaskjdab;ok also runs quite a bit.

Neither of them are "pure" pocket passers, but I view them more as pocket passer who can make plays outside of the pocket when necessary, opposed to guys who have to be outside the pocket to make plays.

Also, how ******* dumb can the Raiders get? 3rd round pick on Pryor? If I was an Oakland fan I would kill Al Davis.

Just go outside the stadium and you may get killed....

Not completely worthless and worth the 'gamble' if you are looking for him to ride a few years. Wasn't that they are doing with Tebow? Same situation and you cant look at him starting.

I will say this.. I would have loved to see Pryor in Auburns offense not Ohio States. I think he would have put up just as good of numbers as the #1 pick in the 1st round.

No, Cam is much more physically imposing and a better leader. Pryor would look average in the SEC West.

Says who? Which is which below?

6'5'' - 236 Lbs - 4.36 40 Time - Strong Arm - Completed 65% of Passes - 5.6 YPC Rushing
6'5'' - 248 Lbs - 4.59 40 Time - Strong Arm - Completed 66% of Passes - 5.6 YPC Rushing

As I said... 3rd round supplemental draft isn't much to give up if you are looking to develop the kid... better leader for Newton? Are you going off of the one year at Auburn or his JUCO teams the previous 2 years in Texas? Physically imposing? 12 LBS heavier or .23 slower in the 40?

Just sayin... college is about what offense you are in. Prior screwed up going to Ohio State because he wanted to PROVE he could run a pro style offense. He was signed with Michigan (And looking back I'm glad Ohio State paid more to get him) but I wonder how he would have done in Rich Rod's offense and if he would still have a job if he was there.

Well if there's any team that could ruin Pryor beyond his already ruinness... it's the raydahs.

As I said, one played in the SEC, one didn't. One won a National Championship, one didn't.

Ahh so lets see here... I could go so many ways but will just simply leave this with ya Torbin. How many SB rings in the past 20 years come from SEC QB's that won National Championships?

Again.. would have loved to see Pryor in Auburn's offense. I believe he would have put up just as good of numbers yet he is a supplemental 3rd rounder and people think that is too high yet Newton was the #1 pick and it was the right pick.

We are talking about who was the better college QB, not pro prospect. I don't think either is a good pro prospect, but even more so Terrel Pryor.

Pryor's complete garbage, stats and measureables or not. He sucked in big games against the best competition. There was an espn article about this a couple months ago but the drop off in his success and production in big games (bowl games, better conference teams) was noticeable while Newton's actually improved this past year in his bigger games vs. Oregon, South Carolina, Alabama, etc. Then, there's the human eye ball test and this is what it says. Pryor put nothing on the ball and made the easier, vanilla throws while the opposite can be true of Newton. I'm not saying they didn't give him easier routes too but his playbook was much more challenging as was his conference.

I'm not saying Newton is going to be great. Who knows. I like his chances though. There is a sort of It factor with him and he's much more Big Ben than Vince Young or Pryor according to virtually every article I read. Pryor on the other hand? Since Oakland drafted him, he has virtually no chance to succeed. That is, unless Al Davis dies. In all seriousness, I heard Pryor interviewed during the Giants-Bears pre-season game last night and I liked his honesty and seemingly, lack of ego. He seemed to have his head on straight and realize it's going to take a lot of work to become successful. Whether that translates I don't know, but I liked his overall tone of voice which seemed genuine.

I also love how Cope seems to knock Newton for playing JUCO while he in fact was recruited and attended Florida but decided to transfer because some scrub named Tebow was so firmly entrenched there.
