NFL Thread 12-13

For the record, as an "Alex Smith lover", I like that they march CK out there a few times a game.

@Hack Will Andre Brown take the next step in his Hall of Fame career tonight?

Well I said if he stays healthy. He did get hurt. But the biggest problem was tom coughlins game plan. He started Bradshaw and kept going to him. Stupid! Why go away from the hot hand? I dont get it. Bradshaw lead the Giants to last in rushing, last year. Why do they need to show loyalty to that? It just blows my mind, that these so called professionals make such bad decisions.

Looks like the giants suffer from the same afflictions as the Jazz. They cant get out of their own way when it comes to who should start and play the most minutes.

Yeah I don't think that franchise is going anywhere until they get rid of Coughlin.

The refs on the field dont want to admit they were wrong so they rarely overturn calls.

So instead they turn a blind eye and stick with their original call even the world will see it was wrong? Yeah, that's what they do.

To overturn the call, the evidence must be obvious. In the Jimmy Graham play, it was. In many others, it is not. Hence, why they stick with the call.

This.
I have been saying this all along. There was a play where jimmy graham had a catch and replay clearly showed the ball hitting the ground. They reviewed it and myself along with about 10 other people were all talking about how easy this call is because the ball obviously hit the ground. Well the refs still said it was a catch. The announcers were very confused as were everyone watching. It was such an easy call as the replay CLEARLY showed the ball hitting the ground.

They need to do like college where they have replay officials (different from the field officials) who determine whether a call gets overruled or not. The refs on the field dont want to admit they were wrong so they rarely overturn calls.

While I don't agree with your rant, I looked up Bradshaw's stats and his yards per carry average has gone down for his entire six year career, season over season.

I think you meant to reply to my quote.

Its true. Bradshaw isnt a great running back. Its hurting the Giants to feature him. He is a good teammate and all that. But needs to be like 3rd on the depth chart.

I've made some good and bad choices in fantasy... But nothing could be worse than my Mcfadden pick this year. Even Chris Johnson fans laughing at me... LOL...

I really don't know what the hell I was thinking...

I wonder how much longer Rex is going to be employed in New York? That said, his ownership hasn't helped him out. Instead of using draft picks to improve their Oline, give Sanchez weapons, etc they turned draft picks into Tim Tebow.

I'm not sure even The Hoodie could make that Jet offense look decent.

Aren't the Giants playing without a few Olinemen?

One thing that stood out to me last night, yeah both Giants and Eagles have great Dlines... But both have pretty injury plagued/bad Olines. The only reason McCoy looked decent last night was because of his incredible speed which allowed him to get outside and turn the corner. 90 percent of the RBs in the league probably would have been eaten alive by the Giants last night. Neither Oline did their RBs or QBs any favors. Especially Vick, who literally takes hits nearly every time he drops back to throw.

David Diehl is out - he is The Giants best offensive lineman.

Giants have a great O-Line when it comes to pass protection. And they also have Bradshaw who as I said before is a great pass blocking back.

However the O-line is not that good at creating holes for runningbacks. Bradshaw, Brown, Jacobs and every other back they've had for the past 10 years not named Tiki Barber are not good enough backs to create opportunities for themselves. They don't have a guy like McCoy who can repeatedly make something out of nothing.

Bro, I went to college with the Head of Scouting for the Jets and my buddy, who played college football with him, swears he'll be a GM in the league. That that's the next step for people in his position. I got into a semi-argument, basically saying/asking why. Why the hell would he get a GM job? Name me two or three good draft picks the Jets have had in the last five years. And I'm not arguing with you btw, I'm agreeing with you. I'm just echoing the sentiment that their FO is ****ing awful. If I'm Johnson, I fire that hack Tannenbaum in the off-season and get someone who recognizes the importance of draft picks. You build through the draft. Period. Yes, a free agent here or there can make a difference. But you typically don't build a championship team around hand me downs. You build it through the draft and their drafts have been terrible.

Any team that would trade for the Rams' bust has shown how godawful they are. Wayne Hunter is absolutely awful but he's a ****load better than Jason Bust Smith.
