Im a byu fan and i recognize that the utes are in a better postition right now and have caught up to and passed byu as the better FOOTBALL program. Basketball is another matter

Nobody should want to talk about Utah basketball. Not even BYU fans that want to gloat. It's that bad. Let's just take a deep breath, slowly walk away, and pretend that Utah basketball wasn't mentioned at all.

No question Ute fans should keep these discussions on football or maybe womens gymnastics.

Yeah we wouldn't want to go all "BYU fan" on you guys when we start bringing up national championships in basketball that happened before most of us were born.
 
I am sure I am in the minority of BYU fans here, but I actually like independence for the simple reason that we get to play bunch of random teams and mix it up a little bit. I know we would be middle of the pack in the big 12 and that would kind of suck ***. I'm a realist.

Honest question, not trying to pick a fight or argue..... What year did utah win a national championship in basketball?

Laughable. This is like asking a 6th grader to give a review of War and Peace. JM12 brought it, you just rode in on his coat tails -- GASP -- such a Utah thing to do.

I honestly didn't know until a couple years ago either. Same with 84'. Had no idea until probly 5 years ago.

I'm happy to have been born right before Mcbride took over and turned the rivalry back around for good.
