NON-JAZZ NBA PLAYOFF thread

LeBron is easily the most scrutinized player of all-time. It is ridiculous. Dude is going to end up as the first player with 40k points - 10k assists - 10k rebounds.

Hell he is the only one with 31k-8k-8k. He will be the all-time leading scorer. He will own tons of records. He has repeatedly carried bad teams to deep in the playoffs. Dude is the most talented player to ever play.

The ************ didn't even give us a TPE
Cue "why would he just give away a TPE?" as if it's some asset Ainge owns that he'd have to part with.

Also, I'm still pissed that Charlotte gave them one.

Ainge doesn't facilitate a TPE for Utah/Hayward: "Yeah, duh. That's how the league works."
Charlotte facilitates a TPE for Boston/Hayward: "Yeah, duh. That's how the league works."

He went to lakers before Davis though. And they gave up a ton to get Davis. He didn't join a team with stars already on it.
Same with Cleveland. They needed a star. He didn't join Steph Klay and Draymond.

Yeah it's not as egregious as Durant, but he still retooled them both into super-teams.

Which I assume pretty much every player would do if they could.
I mean I doubt there are any players in history who are like, hey GM could you trade pippen for Howard eisley? I want the toughest path possible with the crappiest teammates to show that I'm the best.

Well Shaq and Kobe seemed to dislike having it so easy.

I disagree about it being a stacked team. They were finals worthy because they had lebron. No LeBron on the Cleveland team and they don't sniff the finals.

I mean any team with prime LeBron on it is basically stacked because he is that good.

Disagree. They had Irving and prime Kevin love and a good supporting cast. That's still 3 all stars. It's not like CP3 going to the suns with one up and coming star and inspiring them to greater heights. Yes adding LeBron instantly raises a team into some level of contention. But he goes where the getting is good. I would have a different opinion of him if he had stuck with the Cavs the first time and taken them to a championship. Hell he got them to the finals. But when he saw how hard the road was there it was just much easier to go to Miami, build the super-team, and win there.

People seem to forget that Love was averaging 26 PPG and 13 rebounds before joining LBJ.

Everywhere he's went since his first stint with Cleveland has been super teams. To act like he's accomplished anything without a super team is flat out false.

Who are championship winning players that didn't have a super team?
Usually championship winning teams are stacked. Hence the championship.

If I remember correctly Haywood's camp was willing to do a sign & trade to get us a TPE (or at least that's what they said). They spent a couple of days talking about it (maybe we offered a 2nd rounder, cash, who knows) and even then Ainge was probably asking for the sky. He screwed so many GMs and players that I'm not sure he is a positive asset. Anyway, **** Haywood and Ainge.

Embiid has a meniscus tear that they're treating as 'day to day'. Not doing surgery at this point because doing so would effectively end their season.

Anyone that has had a knee injury like that knows that you can't really manage it effectively (much less a pro basketball player).
