Those prices would be nice.
OBAMA in 2008: I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment. The fact that, ehh, this is such a shock t'American pocketbooks is not a good thing. Uh, but if we take some steps right now t', uh, help people make the adjustment -- first of all by putting more money into their pockets, but also by encouraging the market to adapt to these new circumstances more quickly, particularly US automakers.
OBAMA: Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.
OBAMA in 2008: If everybody in America inflated their tires to the proper levels we would probably save more oil than we get from John McCain drilling right below his feet there or wherever it was he was going to drill

Bizarro World-The difference in the media coverage of gas prices between the Bush Administration and the Obama Administration
So we have just lived through the second biggest jump in gas prices in the history of the gas market and doesn’t it feel like the coverage by the media has been a little weak compared to the previous gas price increases in years past? I mean, I did see this headline at CNN, Libya Crisis Sends U.S. Gas Prices Up 33 Cents In Two Weeks but still, it just didn’t sound like the coverage we had back in 2008 or in 2005. I remember that coverage back then and it seemed that the evening news would just start off with the high cost of gas and pin the blame on President Bush or Republican lawmakers. In this article, Libya gets the blame. No mention of Obama or Democrats. Nice. So I wonder how did the media cover this previously and here is what I found out.
According to the Media Research Center, they analyzed network news reports from February 2008 and February 2011, periods when gasoline prices showed similar upward trajectories. The major news outlets carried 63 stories about rising gas prices in the 2008 period. They carried 24 in 2011. In 2008, those reports mentioned “Bush,” “the president” or “government” 15 times. In 2011, Obama and the government were mentioned once. Interesting. Indicates bias to me.
