This is the most true statement out there. There Repubs don't know who/what they are. One republican wrote his own healthcare bill. Another hates it. One passed a flat tax, but is for gay marriage, so he isn't a "true" republican. One thinks that if you are raped, you won't get pregnant.

The leadership and organization of the Repub party is gone. It doesn't exist. Look at this country. It is in shambles. You can easily toss all the blame on the left, as they had full control for two years, the white house for the last 6 and the Senate for the last 8? 10?

Yet, no one does. The left is so organized, so in sync with each other, so united, they continue to win even though reality says that the right should be winning. Obama ran on lowering taxes the first time around. McCain ran on nothing.

Until the right actually figures out what they stand for, get united, all say the same message, that party is screwed and won't accomplish anything, because they don't know what they are trying to accomplish.

For example, here in Utah, Hatch's opponent in the primaries ran on this:

"Orrin Hatch has been in Washington too long."

He didn't say what Hatch was doing wrong, what was wrong in Washington, or what he would do if he were elected. All he said was "I should be elected because Hatch is too old". The republican party is pathetic right now.

Why are politicians not allowed to have mixed views? If they are for a flat tax then they can't be for gay marriage?

That is really a serious issue in our country. If you don't swallow everything hook line and sinker then you can't be taken seriously, even though the VAST majority of people I know have mixed beliefs. I personally have no issues with gay marriage, knock yourself out, marry however many of whoever or whatever you want to. But I am against unfettered abortion. Since I hold a belief from each side of the spectrum I can't ever have a voice, right? Strange because I know way way more people with mixed beliefs, or dare I say moderate beliefs, than who toe the party-line, and most of the latter group I and most of my acquaintances and friends would label wackos due to the vehemence of their defense of "their side" and their vilification of the "other side".

Not entirely. I saw a family of about 6 kids in line in front of me at a Walmart, all with iPhones with obvious data plans, while mom bought food with foodstamps and beer and cigarettes with cash. Anecdotal yes, totally far-fetched, no.

no way?!!? you saw somebody abusing food stamps. **** the whole program must be full of free loaders.

There are plenty of them yes. Are all of them? Of course not but there are plenty.

Edit: I think it has more to do with education than attempting to lie or cheat though.

Did anyone say to get rid of it? Nope. Did I say, seeing how we can't afford it, we should look at reforming it? Yup.

You're right. Our overgenerous citizen-welfare programs will plummet our country into bankruptcy. Just look at what's happening in Germany.
 
The Government of this country is ****ed up. Has been for a long time. So much so that I may seriously consider leaving this country at some point. I never thought I'd say that but the government in the US is broken. It does not work. It does not function. And they don't give a **** what the people in the country want.

Pass more laws (that they don't have to follow), pay themselves more money, get as much power for themselves as possible and **** the people of the country as much as possible. That is my view of how this government functions. The government is ran by a bunch of morans.

yep. some people use them correctly some dont. i love how conservatives love to always point that time they saw someone abusing food stamps. makes me giggle.
it really bothers you guys.
