A) He wanted the players to learn from their mistakes, have some accountability, and improve?

B) Because he is going through an internal crisis, hates his job and life, and should have given you that raise months ago?

Can't say for sure I know which one is true.

Pick a struggle fellas.

We should have tanked harder. Lucky or not, picks would have been better assets. It's just a fact.
And it's not like a wining culture has been set either.

Classic corporate yes-man middle manager behavior. He knows Ainge has made his job impossible and he hates it, but he doesn't have the balls to take it up with Danny or resign, so he tortures the players instead.

This team has a very low ceiling AND we're tanking. I'm sure Hardy is getting nervous about his own career prospects if his Ainge's pet project permanently nukes his overall win/loss record. These stunts are meant to to telegraph "Some of us are still trying to win here!" to the rest of the league.

I see Hardy lasting few more years in Utah, no more than that.

Tanking is the ultimate form of quitting. It's also cheating. The perfect storm of everything I hate in sports.

I'm motivated by the hope that for one reason or another, the tank will get destroyed and everyone will see the light:

Try to put together as good a team as possible without resorting to ugly tricks like tanking and then try to win every single game.

That's the road to sports happiness. If that approach doesn't lead to a championship, so be it.
