35 games 35.9 minutes per game, 8.7 FGM on 18.5 FGA, overall percentage of .473. Durrant shot .505 from 2p range and .404 from 3PT range on 5.8 attempts. Rebounded 11.1 per game, went to the line 7.3 times, making .816 percent and assists 1.3, STLs 1.9, Blks 1.9. Pretty amazing stats for the MVP of the NBA. Average 25.8 pts.
Andrew Wiggins played 35 games, 32.8 minutes, 5.8 FGM on 12.1, overall percentage .448. Wiggins shot .493 from 2p range and .341 from 3pt range Rebounded 5.9 per game, went to the line 6.5 times, making .775 percent and assists 1.5, STLs 1.2 and BLks 1.0. Average 17.1 pts.
So yes Wiggins isn't equal to Durrant but the difference is not far off. If you look at both Kansas and Texas' s rosters you can see that Wiggins had more teammates who took shots. Durrant was the man and DJ Augustine was really the only other scorer on that team. Durrant is a better shooter but all the assists, steals, and blocks are essential the same between the two. Durrant played a little more but he took six shots more per game than did Wiggins so at Wiggins percentage you could add another 5 pts to his average. Still not Durant level both certainly is promising.
Now I know you can't just look at stats and say player X is almost as good as player Y but I think some people are underrating Wiggins because he didn't put up monster numbers but he still had solid numbers along with playing team ball.
