What's new

Official Devin Harris thread

Harris is a good player and I've always thought that. I just don't see his being here now helping with the longterm goal of winning a championship. And I don't think he's stoked to be here, either, but I could be wrong.

He was in New Jersey before. It's like going from a trash heap to a freshly cleaned bathroom. It's not great but it's still an upgrade.

It depends on how you look at it, honestly. But for MOST people, Utah is a weird, white, boring place. Even if it has cool scenery and it's safer.

And I think Harris might welcome the trade if the Jazz were still the Jazz and not whatever floundering mess this team and franchise are now.

Harris will get after it both offensively and defensively. Very quick to the basket, and always uptempo. He should add more excitement to our starting unit; Williams did not seem real enthused about the quicker tempo thing...

The one thing I do like about Harris is the tempo he plays at. Deron got slower and slower as time went on. Harris still plays really fast and I hope it results in getting the team up and down the floor. Running the break with Harris, AK, Favors/Evans, Millsap (God how I wish Jefferson would run the floor), CJ, etc would be pretty effective.

I don't mind Harris at first glance. I like his style of basketball. My biggest concerns are:
1. He will always be compared to Dwill or even stock--so it will be hard for him to show anything but a downgrade
2. A big part of his game is getting inside and defenses are already packing the lane on us since our outside shooting is suffering.

Also with reports of him already joking with the other players and generally enjoying himself on the first day, I'm not too worried about him hating Utah yet.

Having spent a few months in Trenton and Jersey City, I know why Harris is as giddy as a schoolgirl. He must feel like he's just been paroled from prison.
