OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

It will because you say so?

One series, in which we'll likely lose, is not going to raise the stakes next year for free agency. Pay attention to reality pls.

There a number of reasons why a good performance against GSW could help us in the free agency.

In the case we perform extremely well- if GSW wins the whole thing and we are the team that ended up giving them the most trouble, you bet your *** players will notice that.

1. That could definitely influence a player who is borderline on coming here or not. He'll now consider us to be a legit team and might even consider himself the key to making a big run or getting the team on top.

2. The increased media awareness likely means more nationally televised games for the upcoming season, and players definitely want to be seen on the big stage for various reasons (popularity, potential for more money, etc).

3. This could also help us attract better trainers, assistants, etc.

And these things are possible because everyone is following GSW. Victories against other teams (even SAS) won't be as meaningul/have the same amount of impact.

LMAO. Bro, not even you believe what you are saying here.

players are dumb sensationalists, apparently. And they need the media to tell them what's up in the NBA.

How can you say that? We've been blown out all but once against them.

They don't worry you at all? Huh? Are you saying we would beat them in a seven game series? Really?

With a straight face you can say that we have a better chance of beating the Spurs in 7 than the Thunder?

I know you hate them. But you are not thinking rationally.

Name the San Antonio player that the Jazz have no answer for

Guys, the Spurs let off the gas in the 4th quarter. If you see Bonner out there it a clear indication that they were not giving us all they had to win that game. Believe me, we didn't see the Spurs we'd see in the Playoffs.

Kawhi shot 5/14, LMA had maybe 2-4 points in the 2nd half. Diaw would have gotten the Bonner minutes, that's the only difference (Diaw was injured).

I think it will be interesting to see how winning and making the playoffs affect modern free agency.

We're already getting the Bookers of the world. FA's are interested in two things: money and playing time. Jazz can overpay to get some players who don't care about clubbing. But the PT thing is going to hurt. Jazz already have 3-deep 4/5 and 2/3 rotations. Maybe a FA can play 10-15 minutes. Or, you can possibly squeeze Lyles' PT a bit (or rest Favors and Gobert a bit more), go with the 3-wing and open up 20 mins of regular minutes for a 4th big or wing. Top FA's aren't really going to go for that. Older veterans might as they're winding down their careers.

I guess that's where making the playoffs and winning a couple of games, or at least being competitive might help. We're not going to sign Durant. It just ain't happening, But would a veteran like Gay come to the Jazz? He sees the team made the playoffs and you pitch him on the fact the team will be even better with Exum and Burks coming back (and him coming off the bench). So offer more than market value and see if he bites.
