Also it's not like this is the only bad playoff game Rudy's ever had. We've struggled bad against Houston and Golden State in the playoffs when they play small ball.

Maybe it has more to do with our cupboard filled of bad defenders. Royce is are best perimeter defender and he is overrated somewhat. The rest of the guys are below average. DM can play defense when he wants but his responsibilities have led to him half way trying on defense. I saw his potential in game 7 against Murray where he shut him down but he had nothing left on offense. DM couldn't guard a flagpole with his ankle. The biggest problem is at almost every position except center the Jazz have either less size or less athleticism than their opponent. I also have witnessed our soft mentally when it comes to defense. The Jazz need a few alpha dogs on defense.

To note - I'm still team Rudy, but if we do trade him I like the GS package as it's more of a teardown package.

3 way with PDX/PHI? Probably needs some balancing, but I don't hate the basics.

If Simmons came to Utah, I would stop being a Jazz fan. I have been one for 42 years. That guy is afraid to shoot a jump shot and cannot make free throws besides all the whining about not being selected for DPOY and dissing DM about ROY. Cannot stand the guy.

Ingles, Niang and O'Neal should go too. They always do nothing for the Jazz during the playoffs. Bodan and Clarkson I'd rather keep around again for sure.

Jazz need some bench players. Ingles and O'Neal should be coming off the bench. Please let Niang walk.

Everyone wants to keep avoiding the truth that you can't win with a High Volume Scorer as your best player. Gilbert Arenas, TMac,Carmelo, D.Wilkins all say hello. All was all stars, all won lot of regular season games and come playoff time all went home early. I know Donovan is loved here in Utah but we need to look at history that you can't win with a player like him. Best thing he could do is start training with Stockton or a Point guard in general. He needs to learn to play make for others because Jazz to easy to guard. Force Donovan to shoot alot and lock all others up. It's what Nuggets did in game 7, Clippers in Game 6. People will bash me but just wait until Four more years of this and then y'all will see where I was coming from

If you look at DM percentages they have improved every year. The problem is we have no other player besides maybe Bogie who can get his shot off under pressure. I am sure DM would love it if other guys could step up. DM had 9 assists in game six. The reason why those teams let DM go off is because they couldn't stop him so they make sure no one else goes off. If you want to complain about a guy who shoots too much than I suggest JC as that player. All those players you mentioned were on bad teams and lacked other scorers. So I agree that if the Jazz do not make changes then they will be in the same place but not because of DM shooting shots but because they didn't get him any help. Championship teams have multiple guys who can score on their own.

Brogdan (21.7M) and Turner (18M) for Rudy (35.3) and our 1st...and filler if needed.

The Pacers clearly wanna shake **** up there. They’ve been looking to trade Turner since forever and iirc, there was already talks that they were considering trading Brogdan.
If we let Mike walk, and could pull this off, it would be sweet as ****.

The Pacers do it to dump them, get a presence on d behind Sabonis AND get a 1st.

We do it to keep a strong defensive presence at the 5 (and one who’s not so lumbering that he could remain on the floor when teams go small and one who can hit the 3 himself) and to replace Mike and get younger. The obvious concern are their injury histories.

Then our rich *** owner can seriously lay some cash on the table and tell the FO to try to buy a couple firsts. Based on awful attendance in the league the last year and a half, I could see a couple teams trying to sell their 1sts. Buy them.

Get the best damn long 3 and d guy we can via FA. Batum? Gay? Aminu?

We’d retain most of our defensive identity this way AND get considerably younger through the trade and acquisition of 1st round pick(s).

Another poster said we can’t do this til October which might be accurate. I would’ve guessed December actually. If that’s the case, I doubt the front office would do it mid-season.

The culture of Utah is different from any place that I have ever lived and the whiteness of the society here may make NBA players reluctant to come here.

The more I think about it, especially after reading many of the responses on the site, I think we need to trade Rudy. We probably won't get back equal value, and I don't know if we actually can until October, as some have said, but we need to line up something and get it done. It may be a step back at first but in the long run, it's what we need to do. Two years in a row getting bushwacked should tell us all we need to know. And for the few Don detractors here, I don't understand how you can fault him or his effort. He certainly shows a lot more passion than Rudy who seems rather apathetic about his play and never puts the onus on himself like Don who constantly says he needs to get better and work harder.

Jeff Green wanted out. No one knows if it was basketball related or cultural related. Green had some very good games in the playoffs but he had some real stinkers and for that reason Green has been a journeyman in the NBA. Mike also said he loved being with the team and in Utah. He is a free agent. He wants to test the market. If he says I want to be in Utah but the FO doesn't sign him or give him the money then he is sitting out in the wind with a possibility of no other options. It would be dumb to say I am staying with Utah without a deal already in place. Niang basically said the same thing Conley said when asked about his free agency.

Makes me want to puke and if this is truly the FO mentality then the Jazz will never be anything more than make the playoffs and lose in the first or second round team. If you goal is not to do whatever you can to get better than you are falling behind. I am so depressed about this mentality of our FO. I am still puking thinking about it.

So has Rudy but at least Collins has some offense to his game.
