I wanted Gobert to do well and it causes me genuine emotional pain to see it be such a disaster.

Knowing that we have 4 picks and a swap from them is what I imagine people feel like when somebody close to them dies but they get a fortune in life insurance.

Why is it every time I look to see one of these teams lose one of them is always playing freaking Orlando?
Yep. I was looking forward to the sixers going on a little losing streak with all 3 stars out but instead they have played great and Shake Milton is dominating.

The RealGM Timberwolves forum is kind of fascinating right now. Wolves fans are talking about trading Gobert to Atlanta for Capella and stuff or trading DLo to Utah for Mike Conley so that someone has on court rapport with Gobert.

I don't think we will be helping them get out of their jam. We are direct beneficiaries.

It really may be one of the greatest trades and biggest fleeces in the history of sports. Is Rudy gobert a nice person, good teammate and good representative of a franchise, yes. In the NBA though, with needing to guard stretch 4 and 5 bigs and switch off screens he is simply a horrible fit. At best, he is an off the bench big that can throw teams for a loop, proven game after game in the playoffs. Not sure it’s really debatable. His contract was an absolute disaster. The fact we got back what we did from MN is an absolute hilarity.

Not only did they send us more or less his equivalence in walker kessler, but Beasley who has been our 3rd or so most valuable player, but also a hustle player in vando. Kessler actually has more upside imo than gobert as well given his better hand eye coordination and shooting capability. It is downright hilarious.

While the Utah Jazz retool and reload our roster year after year with top 5 talent we will be continually filled by top 1-6 draft picks every other year until the next decade bc I really am not sure Minnesota can develop anything from their dumpster fire. Not to mention their stars will likely not resign.

With all of that, the Jazz also have never ending picks from the cavs as well. Well done Ainge. Thanks Rudy. An absolute fleece if that word even does it justice

I went to explore few of their boards along with their reddit and while DLo hate is the universal theme I was surprised to find out KAT was their #2 target instead of Rudy. At least that was my impression.

Edit: I'm not surprised because I think KAT is good. I'm surprised because Rudy is such an obvious target considering the trade. I dislike KAT for his complete inability to defend anyone with 2 functional legs.

Wizards are definitely a legitimately good team, but damn the Wolves are hopeless. The 9th seed might be their ceiling this year.
