Official Utah/Minnesota/Philadelphia Pick Watch

The good point is that now Don is in a team who want him. He will show how good he is when play off start. And if he failed, no worries, people can allways tell that Cleveland did not build around him :)

On the other hand, Rudy said "I can't get exposed in the playoffs if we don't make it."

He's playing 4D chess.

Rudy is not a star player. And will never be. A big who can't shoot is not matching well with modern NBA. He is a good player but will never carry a team. But when i read that he is the most overated player of the jazz history it's just totally ridiculous.
The fact that the Jazz decide to pay him that much was a big mistake on my opinion.

I think he's definitely the most overrated player in Jazz history. 90% of you were calling him a top 10 player that instantly made the Wolves a top 2 team in the West and championship contender

4 times, the people who select the All-NBA team called him a top 15 player. I distrust their judgement less than a bunch of random people on a message board.

Gobert is having a bad year. Will next year be better? We don't know.

This is a really good response. It wasn't just jazz fans who thought he was awesome.
I mean look at what minnesota gave us to acquire him. They obviously thought he was one of the best players in the league. And ainge didn't want to let him go unless he got an amazing offer so ainge also thought he was pretty good. And the jazz gave him a huge contract so they thought he was pretty awesome too.

I just want to point out that All-NBA isn’t the top-15 players in the league. It goes by position. He was selected as a top-3 center four times.

My whole argument with Gobert was he will be getting paid 41M/44M/47M when he was 31/32/33. To pay a player who’s offensively limited that much money when players of his archetype don’t age very well. Sure, he will give you 12/12 but do you want to be paying a player what he’s going to make that much for that? I wouldn’t and it would make it hard to build a contender around down the road.

We have a huge window to improve our roster coming up due to Markkanen/Kessler making about half of what Gobert will be over the next 3 years.

Gobert has missed 10 games this season already. That was another concern of mine was potential injuries going forward due to history of big men getting injured more as they age into their mid-30’s.

He was absolutely overrated by this board. Calling Minnesota title contenders and a bunch of nonsense. I get it he was a fan favorite and people really liked him so they let their emotions speak for them.

Here is my take on Rudy. He was the DPOY every year he was in UTAH. He needs a real point guard or close facsimile if there are not at least 2 high level playmakers at other positions on the court, and not the type of me first usage core he is dealing with over there. He had some of that when JC was doing his 6th man thing for us, but there again not a starter with him. The Wolves should have known this, but apparently underrated how much playmaking was on the Jazz, in Rudy's time here and they don't have it at all. They also have time to see if the pairing with a healthy KAT which he isn't really yet at all might work better than the current options sharing the front court.

The love of YoungJefe for Don make him a little bit blind..... for the rest, even i like Rudy a lot, i would definitly not put him in the top 15. Probably more in the top 30.

Bad year? Doesn’t matter. Top 15 players do not have bad years. You can name the top 15 players and I can guarantee you none of them had bad years without injury.

Gobert is averaging a double-double and over a block a game. That's pretty good for an NBA center, even though it's a bad year for Gobert.

If you are foolish enough to believe that Chamberlain, Russell, Jordan, etc. never had an off year, that you should not be posting publicly.
