Official Utah/Minnesota/Philadelphia Pick Watch

Problem is Rudy is the only one they have showing up. Everyone else is pouting and playing like ****. They need to gut the roster and add players around Gobert, or dump everything. I am glad we will likely end up with a great pick from that trade, and the players we got were the real core of that team, but man I still feel bad for Rudy. If those guys could get it together they could make some noise, but the internal squabbling is going to kill them. They have no direction, and too many of the key players have way too much quit in them, like Kat and Edwards. Sad for Rudy, happy for us. GO JAZZ!!
The issue is, as I said numerous times before the season, that Rudy doesn't fit in with their style of play. They've been terrible with him on the court offensively because their entire offensive philosophy last year was to get up and down the court/shoot quick 3s. Anthony Edwards is one of the most dynamic athletes in the league and hasn't even dunked in a game this year because their spacing is terrible with Rudy/KAT on the court together.

They definitely view Ant/KAT as franchise cornerstones going forward and they should dump everyone so they can build around an aging and declining Rudy Gobert? Lmao. The Rudy bias and love here is still crazy.

But at the end of the day Rudy's team is losing and having locker room issues while Donovan's new team is thriving and having fun. But I'm sure Donovan was definitely the villain and root of all of our problems.

A lot of new articles about Minnesota this week. The most damning thing is the KAT/Gobert fit.

Minnesota is terrible on defense when Gobert is out and terrible on offense when Gobert is in.

It has a lot to do with KAT. He is playing terrible on defense and his offense has been non-existent with Gobert on the floor. They are missing the three-point shooting Beasley brought to them last year and their spacing is really bad.

I don’t think they will tumble as far down as top-5 worst record in the league but top-10 is a possibility and I think there is a really good chance this pick ends up in the lottery. I think Minnesota ends up in a play-in game and what happens there will be the difference between a lottery pick or a pick in the mid-teens for us.

Yeah I also read KAT is taking higher % of his shots from the paint when Gobert is on the floor vs when he is off.

That makes literally no sense if its true.

Dude, being a T'Wolves fan has to be 20x worse than being a Jazz fan.

They had two picks to draft Steph Curry, but they chose Johnny Flynn and Ricky Rubio.

Then they trade away their future picks, Walker Kessler and core players for an offensively limited 30 year old Gobert.

Ooooooohweeee I know the Wolves fanbase has to be sick to their stomach.

Really it all just shows they (meaning the FO and coaching staff) have no idea how to best use Gobert to initiate offense, and have not done a good job of surrounding him with the right talent. They gave us their heart and soul, and what they have left isn't cutting it. On paper they should be dominant, but ANT and KAT are both soulless. They don't seem to care much about the game in general, and the coaching staff have no idea how to get the team to play together the right way. Too bad for them, and good for us in the long run potentially. They should be way better than this.

It’s crazy that we’re only a few weeks into the season and we’re already at the point that I can’t imagine what possessed the Wolves front office to make that trade.

What we need, aside from winning the lottery with the Minnesota pick, is for Philly to get bumped from the play in and then move up in the lottery. Then we have the worst of Brooklyn and Houston.

Philly's slow start likely gets corrected. Even though they are having some injury woes... they have had a really tough schedule so their record isn't far off what should be expected. Brooklyn is still a ticking time bomb and they are a KD sprained knee away from going on a 2-12 stretch that throws them into the lotto. Philly is still capable of landing in the play in... but I bet that pick ends up being somewhere between 18-22 maybe like a 10-20% chance of being in the lotto.

You’re not thinking fourth dimensionally.
