Pathway to 100

One of the biggest takeaways of the game for me is that the Jazz can get to 100 points without heroic efforts by any one player. I wasn't sure we would be that far along at this point. It's one thing to speculate on where the numbers will come from and another to see it on the court. The only player who I think played well above their average was Lucas, I would expect everyone else to at least be able to come close to what they contributed the other night and to eventually grow beyond that. This is actually a big deal because there are a handful of teams that ARE going to struggle to get 100 even sporadically. They will be worse than us which hurts the tank. I do understand that a lot of teams are going to put up a bigger fight defensively than the Warriors, but I also expect the learning curve and game to game improvement of the team to rise dramatically after the first preseason game for a very young and inexperienced team.

I think the next biggest question will be is our defense good enough to hold the average team UNDER 100 points on a regular basis. I believe we will need a bigger sample size to determine that, but things looked pretty swell against the Warriors, especially with Burke's defensive effort, which I wasn't expecting.

I think we lose a lot of heart-breakers because our defense and especially rebounding will keep us close but inexperience will show up in 4th quarters.

What I learned is that it was a preseason game. A thirdish of the time was played by players that won't even be on either team. I was glad to see Burke preform better, but I learned years ago to not put much stock in pre season games.

If I remember right didn't we lose like 7 of 9 pre-season games one of the years we went to the finals, or something like that? 2L2G.

Wrong thread.

Very disappointed by this thread. I thought this was going to be a trip down memory lane, highlighting the illustrious moments of PKM from a young newbie on the board to volume poster, to college basketball expert and now as the man most revered and feared due to his 100 (now 101) rep power.

^not in proper chronological order

Not sure, but in 10/11 the Jazz were undefeated in preseason and missed the playoffs (IIRC, they're the only team to ever do this...as well as being the team with the most first half wins to miss the playoffs).

^ all is true. We went 8-0. I remember Hayward dropped like 26 points against the Lakers in one of the games too

That's the thing, I thought we would grow to that point because we would be just horrible on the offensive end. Now I think we get to this point rather quickly.
