One of the biggest takeaways of the game for me is that the Jazz can get to 100 points without heroic efforts by any one player. I wasn't sure we would be that far along at this point. It's one thing to speculate on where the numbers will come from and another to see it on the court. The only player who I think played well above their average was Lucas, I would expect everyone else to at least be able to come close to what they contributed the other night and to eventually grow beyond that. This is actually a big deal because there are a handful of teams that ARE going to struggle to get 100 even sporadically. They will be worse than us which hurts the tank. I do understand that a lot of teams are going to put up a bigger fight defensively than the Warriors, but I also expect the learning curve and game to game improvement of the team to rise dramatically after the first preseason game for a very young and inexperienced team.
I think the next biggest question will be is our defense good enough to hold the average team UNDER 100 points on a regular basis. I believe we will need a bigger sample size to determine that, but things looked pretty swell against the Warriors, especially with Burke's defensive effort, which I wasn't expecting.
