I actually think Utah would have a better chance to sign Paul George than Boston and here is why:
Paul George was close friends with George Hill and neighbors, they would carpool to games and hang out together.
Paul George and Hayward would play pickup games all the time and became friends. Of course Hayward is from Indiana and PG played for Indiana so they seen each other often. Also just recently Paul George said he would like to play on the same team as Hayward.
Paul George would practice and play pickup games with Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell also talks highly of Paul George and how George helped him on his game. They got along really well.
Then top it off with the best defensive center and rim protector in the league in Gobert.
Utah wouldn't have to gut their team as much to create the cap space needed as much as Boston would to make it happen.
Utah is a lot closer to LA than Boston, and Utah makes many more trips to LA per year playing the Clippers and Lakers. LA is only a 75 minute flight and if he wants nightlife Vegas is only a 60 minute flight.
Btw if Jazz get PG then they get Hayward and Hill too. Problem is Utah is too conservative to make such a big risky move like that. If you look at the reports coming out they mention all the top teams who had been in talks with Indy and the list includes (Spurs, Rockets, Cavs, Clippers, Celtics). Every list excludes the Utah Jazz. All those other teams know what it takes to be a championship team.
Clippers have no idea how to be a championship team, but I agree that PG would be exciting to have on the Jazz.
