It’s not punishment. It’s using their platform to elevate important social issues and as leverage to pressure institutions to do more.

To think this is PUNISHMENT really reeks of privilege. Don’t mean to hammer on you over what might just be a bad word choice but come on.

This one night of action has financial implications in the tens of millions of dollars and has tens of millions of people talking.

You think these adult men that have done more tonight to address this issue than the collective lifetimes of everyone on this board are naive. I think your point is weak and you are out of your depth.

But they're not innocent. None of us are innocent. We are all complicit in this. If majority of people weren't racist, then we wouldn't have the society we have right now. Then we would've had change long ago. We wouldn't have people complaining about how basketball might get canceled.

Again, it's nice for you to pretend that you're not racist, like the bar for being racist is thinking black people are subhuman and ought to be exterminated. Meanwhile, you "just want to watch a game [you] enjoy." It'd be a shame if a fight for equality got in your way, right?

Its funny over the last few months I've had so many conversations where the guys claim not to be racist but also won't watch the NBA anymore because of BLM being "forced down their throats". "They should just play" etc etc.

I ain't heard those same people complaining about when the NFL wears pink for breast cancer awareness...

Its been incredibly disappointing and eye opening.

C'mon. You seriously think there are gonna be riots from Republicans? Seriously? The closest thing to a right protest was some people standing on the courthouse steps in Minnesota looking like morons holding their guns and stuff.

If Biden wins, there won't be protests. If Trump wins, cities will burn like they are now.

I can't believe these guys are our only options.

Use your position of influence to make real change. If they stop playing, its like they quit on their messages of jersey names, court logos, comments during interviews, etc.

Its like Obama talking about bringing everybody together now when as President, he never seemed to do anything to unify the country. And Trump talks about it, yet he does so much to divide.
