I was excited this year to see enes, derrick, gordon, alec and trey all play over 30 minutes every game regardless of wins or losses.
That was really the thing I cared about more than anything.
Since jeffy and marvin are playing so much and rush and biedrins minutes are certain to increase, now all I care about are losses and the eventually release of kermit the frog, aka ty the turd, aka the milkman

Corbin is working on player development. It has been established in this very forum that reducing PT so a player can watch the game instead of play it accelerates their development at an exponential rate. So the less PT they get, the better they will become due to the mystical "watch and learn" phenomenon that has been employed by so many of history's greats, such as...umm. Well I am sure there must be greats out there that became great by watching and not doing. That's what is happening, and we will have several MVP candidates as a results of RJ and Marv playing more than the Core 5.

Don't know about the others but Trey had foul truble. Two fouls in the first 5 minutes of the game, and had to sit the rest of the first quarter. If not for foul trouble Burke ends up playing over 30 minutes.
Favors had some good offense, but he really played like **** on defense. I'd like to see him get benched a game or two to send a message. 4 rebounds no blocks, and little to no help defense = him quitting. He was extremely lazy last night on defense, and that's suppose to be his strength.
Kanter just came back from a sprained ankle.
Why the hell does Burks deserve minutes, plus 24 minutes for a bench player is good.
You can't just play these guys thirty+ minutes a game when playing like **** or they will develop losing habbits and not progress messages and lessons by restricting minutes must happen. Discipline is the best way to get guys to wake up and play the right way. Do you honestly think these guys have earned the right to be playing that many minutes, playing as ****y as they are?

Stockton was a bench player for 3-4 years. Kobe hardly played his first year or two. T-mac didn't play much to start.
Look at Vanhorn. He should've had an Allstar career, he started every game his first couple years and was really good looking like he would be an Allstar, but he played for bad teams and ended up getting worse and worse year after year after that.
All of the c4 are getting more minutes then they were last year. I don't want our guys to just go through this year thinking they have free rains to do and play as crappy as they can, because then they would end up amounting to not a damned thing.
Look what Deron's benching did for him. Even though he didnt like it, he himself even admitted it was the right move and helped him play better once he got back in the starting lineup.
There is something called coaching, and not just letting the players do the same damned mistakes over and over, and what the c4 are doing needs to be corrected. Time to sit some asses!

Ya lucas has earned his minutes damn it! So has jefferson and rush.
Why is it that favors, kanter, and burks minutes should be taken away for poor play but not jefferson or lucas?
What has gobert done to deserve zero minutes.
The way I see it is that pretty much the whole team sucks so I think the young guys that will be around next year SHOULD just be given the minutes.
To me the only ones who have "earned" minutes are evans, marvin, and gobert.

From your dumbass comment looks like you read the first couple lines then overreacted.
The way I read your dumbass comment is let the young guys play and learn bad habbits because there is no discipline on the team. The players develop bad habits never learn how to win, and play them selve into vets who are just role players who end up amounting to nothing more then that.

But seriously what about about when jefferson plays badly? Should he benched too or should we teach the young guys that no matter how you play, you can never lose minutes as long as you are an old vet that came from another team and won't be around next year?

For your scenario to work there needs to be coaching going on, as in showing and telling the player what they need to do differently, then letting them put that into practice on the court, then critiquing afterward. Coaching happens all along the way, not just in how often or long they sit a given player. For reduction of PT to be an effective teaching tool it needs to be part of a coaching strategy, and used as a tool, and there needs to be teaching to go along with it. If it is just the bball equivalent of smacking a dog on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper then it is less effective than just letting them play through the issues and learn on the fly. The players who mentioned that sitting them did them good were not stating that sitting on the bench alone was the magic pill, as if the cold metal of the chair imparted some mystical basketball wisdom by osmosis. What they are saying is that the coaching strategy that was used to teach them the game and how to play it, of which reduced PT was a part along with teaching and mentoring so they understood the "why" behind a benching, was effective in helping them develop. Without the strategy and teaching moments, simply reducing PT results in players like Trey being bored and playing with their tongues instead of learning anything.

Really!! God your dumb. The c4 have played big minutes till just recently, and they all have gotten much worse over the first 16 games!! What the hell have you been watching. Maybe your fine with Favors only getting 4 boards and no blocks while playing Big-Al like help defense, or maybe your fine with the countless boneheaded mistakes and turnovers made by Kanter, and don't get me started on his Memo like defense he has shown this year, and looking like he's just going through the motions! Burks, and all his bad outside jumpers he takes outside of the offense, or wild passes he does! Sounds like Hayward needs to get mad or something he could use a good god-damn benching as well! He's in some kind of funk that looks never ending. So I guess Ty should let them run free in the asylum completely unchecked. I guess you think it might be fun to talk about getting a top three pick over the next decade!
