What's new

Portland Trailblazers @ OUR Utah Jazz TODAY at 1900.

Dead on. Millsap is the guy to do it. Idk if anybody was even still tuned in but Lillard's last play, Millsap got screened and then recovered to swat Lillard's jump shot into the stands. After that Millsap got in his hip for the inbound and Lillard shoved him away before getting pulled out of the game. We needed that kind've get in your head physical intensity all game. I understand Millsap is absolutely dreadful on offense, but he can really play physical defense and take guys out of their game, which is exactly what you suggested should have happened.

Millsap is the guy you put in if you want to rack up fouls with hand checks.

Milsap needs to stop trying to do anything on offense, just make like Bruce Bowen and be able to hit a couple 3s per game.

The excuse of a "soph learning curve" is weak. I'll never be a coach and I saw it coming from a mile away.

It's not an excuse at all. He messed up but he will learn. Sucks it happened but I am not to worried about it yet.

Moreover, this is the same death they dealt us in the preseason, which was just a few days ago.

That was an infuriating game. I hated how that game was coached and managed. The constant subbing in the 2nd and 3rd quarter was absolutely ridiculous. Players were playing in for one or two plays then they'd get pulled. Nobody knew who was their guy because of all the subs and nobody could get in a flow. Idiotic move by Quin

Lyles is not ready to be a rotation player. We have a chance at the playoffs and should not be giving him minutes until he's ready. If we were a lottery team then sure, toss him to the wolves and see what happens, but we have the expectations of playoffs and he's killing us. ****ing dress Jeff already. He is nothing special but at least he's solid and not a huge liability like Tyles and Tibor have been.

The most frustrating thing for me so far this season is how both losses point right to our coaching staff. In Detroit: no defensive substitution at the end of the game. Versus Portland: letting Lillard and McC run the same two-option screen patterns all ****ing night. Ridiculous.

Quin failed different games down the stretch. I hope he will improve to better manage close games.

Millsap is the guy you put in if you want to play physical defense on a perimeter player who is lighting you up.

I know he is a good defender and stuff, but I don't believe he is that good. He nearly cancels himself out with how bad he is offensively. If we were, as a group, a better offensive team we would probably afford to play him more, but we can't.

Also, he would foul out within 12 minutes guarding Lillard. He hand checks way too much on the perimeter to get away with guarding a PG of his caliber.

We really should have put Hayward on Lillard. I think he got switched on him once and really had a nice contest on Lillard's 3pt shot. The problem is that he switched off Harkless who posted up Burke..... I miss Dante. The advantages you get with a 6'6 defensive PG on switches can't be understated.
