Why didn’t security shut this guy up earlier?

I was at the Kong’s preseason game and a dude was heckling Shumpert (yup his own player) he said something ugly and everyone gave him a funny look and security said something to him... he didn’t show back up at half time.

The fact that Dm said he has heard it a couple times validates that some of the stereotype is likely true. Fans should police this stuff a bit better... see something say something mmmmkay.
I find it interesting that people seem to think stereotypes are completely made up or something. A stereotype starts with some behavior, occurring frequently enough in a given context that people begin to associate that behavior with specific groups or situations. It means it has happened enough that it is what people begin to expect to happen. Of course then the stereotype takes in a life of it's own as people being to believe it based in hearsay and not in direct observation. But somewhere along the line it generally started with some actual behavior or real scenario.

This guy strikes me as the guy that wanted to get punched so he could sue someone rich. This thing is getting crazy... this asshat left a terrible impression on the organization.

I'm naive man... I didn't know how prevalent racism, sexism, and metoo stuff really was. I'm a decent human and prefer to think of others as decent until they prove otherwise. I regret to report there are a lot more ignorant jerks out there than I originally thought. I'm not quite woke, but I'm getting there.

Someone who is good at the internet should start a petition to ban this guy... a sign that Jazz fans aren't all overly aggressive buttholes.

If every "conservative" made that statement, I would never have a political argument with them ever again. They mostly don't though.

I will say this. Maybe I was wrong to say that the statement is in no way racist, but I do believe that it is an EXTREME stretch to believe that if such a comment was even made, that it was done with racial undertones

I can see that, but apparently an N bomb was dropped as well according to a few accounts. Even if the N bomb weren't brought out, it's still an ugly shot.

I think Russ overreacted to the pacifier comment that was taped (actually thought it was funny myself). But no excuse for this a-hole.

I genuinely don't think it's necessary. Social Media for the fandom has stuck a stick up this guy's butt, basted him in butter, propped him over a fire, and hooked up a motor and band to slowly turn him over the flame to ensure even roasting.

"Racism and hate speech hurts us all, and this is not the first time something like this has happened in our arena," he continued. "The Utah that I have come to love is welcoming and inclusive and last night's incident is not indicative of our fanbase. We don't want to create a negative reputation for athletes who potentially may want to come to Utah."

lawsuit for what?...security can kick him out for heckling even if it's not racist, so he has no leg to stand on there...if somebody faked a twitter page with that stuff on there, well good luck getting to the bottom of that
That guy getting fired
they need to tread carefully there--has there been confirmation of what the guy said?...they could probably axe him for the crap on that twitter page if nothing else (if it is his)...also, I know it's a local dealership, but Toyota is one of the NBA's top sponsors so it's possible they could be heard from but they're lawyered-up enough to not jump to conclusions...I imagine the manager of that dealership is on his 3rd dose of ibuprofen today...
