Zach has been a central block the Bulls have built around for 6 years or so. Dejounte has been sent from one bad situation to another because he would have messed with Spurs' odds to get Wemby. You're going to have to explain to me how Zach LaVine is a loser but Dejounte Murray isnt.
Both players have only made the playoffs once as main pieces on a team. Dejounte got traded to a team and that team got worse (not saying it's his fault either way, but it happened).

Except that most thought teh Atlanta situation was great.....Zach has been a central block the Bulls have built around for 6 years or so. Dejounte has been sent from one bad situation to another because he would have messed with Spurs' odds to get Wemby.
I thought that would be too obvious to have to explain, but I guess not.
It wasnt really. Cheap owner, bad coach (last year), ball hog lead guard, two non-spacing guys in high minute rotations.Except that most thought teh Atlanta situation was great.....
No. He was traded from SA because they saw that despite his stats (which he boosted by being a placeholder "star" in a crummy team... ball domination, bright green light etc.) he wasn't a guy they were going to build around.Zach has been a central block the Bulls have built around for 6 years or so. Hindsight. People praised the move.It wasnt really. Cheap owner, bad coach (last year), ball hog lead guard, two non-spacing guys in high minute rotations.
Plus he was relegated to secondary ballhandling duties in an offense designed around one of the most ball dominant guards.
Him leaving made Spurs clearly worse though.

Oh I'm not saying he is a guy you build around. He is still a two way player who is a better overall player than any guard we have on our roster right now.No. He was traded from SA because they saw that despite his stats (which he boosted by being a placeholder "star" in a crummy team... ball domination, bright green light etc.) he wasn't a guy they were going to build around.

He's still getting his numbers, but the team isn't better because of it.
We can sit here and make a lot of excuses for LaVine as well. Dude was the best player on a legit team before injuries hit.
Just hilarious how we are going to label one a loser and the other as this great piece.
That list will give me nightmares.Dejounte Murray
Zach LaVine
DeMar DeRozan
Pascal Siakam
There is also the fact that Lavine makes 50% more money per year than DJM will with his extension that kicks in next season.Hindsight. People praised the move.

Is he that good of a defender? He doesnt have great defensive metrics. A lot of his defensive rep is based off what he did very early in his career.Murray is a plus defender. Lavine is seen as a poor defender and something of a chucker.
Purely a ball pounder and jump shooter. Is he that good of a defender? He doesnt have great defensive metrics. A lot of his defensive rep is based off what he did very early in his career.
He shoots the ball a lot and doesnt get to the FT line at all.
First pure ball pounder and jump shooter Ive ever heard to have averaged 9.2 APG, 8.3 RPG and 2.0 SPG over 68 games.Purely a ball pounder and jump shooter.
How would being a ball pounder and jump shooter prevent you from getting stats?First pure ball pounder and jump shooter Ive ever heard to have averaged 9.2 APG, 8.3 RPG and 2.0 SPG over 68 games.

Caruso would be great, but everyone is going to want him. That's the issue right now. The quality guys out there are going to have a lot of suitors.I'd be interested in Caruso as well. A discount version of Derrick White that every winning team needs
Plus, Murray does stuff like this. How would being a ball pounder and jump shooter prevent you from getting stats?
