Predict the Rudy Gobert trade

I do tax work so the somewhat loathe this type of research… you really have to look at several sections of the nba “code” then look at which ones apply… yada yada… so I just prefer taking it from guys who do it for a living and are trustworthy for some things. Sometimes you don’t have a choice though. I know I’ve heard that in a sign and trade he’d be BYC player so take that for what it’s worth here.
 
The only two players for a Rudy Gobert trade seem to MIN and CHI. TOR has been mentioned as well, but I just don't believe it. We know the deal would be Trent Jr + OG or something along those lines.

Comparing MIN and CHI, I think MIN could actually put together a better package. Pat Williams is the only premium asset either team could acquire, but how does McDaniels compare to Pat? The gap isn't as wide as you'd think. MIN also has a bunch of different youngish players. Reid, Nowell, Vanderbilt, and they just drafted Kessler and Moore. They have all their picks. I'd keep an eye on them.

At the end of the day, Rudy Gobert for OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr might be the best trade all the way around.

- addresses perimeter defense
- addresses youth
- addresses athleticism
- saves us $4+ million which means we can make reasonable moves to get below the tax
- fits Toronto nicely so they have Rudy, Barnes, Fred, Siakim in clearly defined roles to make a very strong East contender

That would be a darn good Raptors team, to be honest.
