Predict the Rudy Gobert trade

I mean, when you leave out Hunter, Wright, Gallo yeah their depth isn’t looking hot. Any team without 3 of their players will have thin depth. The Hawks play in the East and they also have all their picks plus extra to make moves. Much better spot than the Jazz are in. They’d likely be a top 3 offense again and Rudy would instantly make them a top 10 defense.

We’re taking Hunter back in this hypothetical and their pick. Wright is a free agent.

Try again.

We won 49 games this year. Their supporting cast will not be as good as ours was here. Their depth will not be as good. What has happened to your basketball knowledge? It’s probably still there but your irrational love for Rudy is hurting it.
We won 49 in a complete ******** of a year, last year we were on 60 win pace. The year before that we were on 50 something win pace. We've been in that general range for ages. Practically since Rudy appeared as our best player.

Atlanta's biggest problem is their defense and this is precisely what Rudy will fix. They have good players throughout the roster and they have a superstar offensive creator who will fit like a glove with Rudy. I have very little doubts that Rudy will massively help them in the win collumn. Now will it be 50 or 55 or 60, who knows... this is contingent on a lot of other factors but he will definitely raise their level.

My point was that a strict swap between Capela+Collins for Rudy is the same money, but vastly different outcomes. Add in Hunter and the Hawks are still better with Rudy, but they would end up paying a hell of a lot more for those 3 combined than Rudy.

Why would we swap Rudy for Capela and Collins?

We better get Hunter, Collins, Capela, 16 and a future first round pick.

This is Rudy ****ing Gobert we are talking about here.

You still don't get it. If you think Rudy's value is in his points you really don't get it.

No, YOU still don’t get it.

Rudy’s value is his defense but when you get paid 1/3 of the cap you better be able to play both sides of the floor especially in the playoffs. Which he can’t effectively.

That’s the point I’m making. Capela+Collins is the same salary cost….but wayyy worse than Gobert on his own. That’s why we ask for a ton on top of that duo. The difference between Rudy and those two is massive and we ought to make teams pay for that upgrade. We shouldn’t short change Rudy, because if teams don’t have Rudy….they are lucky to be paying Collins and Capela that same money.

I’m sure teams would rather pay Jokic or Giannis instead of Rudy. But if you’re not paying Rudy you’re paying two mediocre starters the same money. Rudy has value. The Jazz better get real value back.

Lol you are a clown. We have a player who is top-5 in PPG in playoffs history but yeah we don’t have anyone who dominates ever.
The standard was "dominate", not put up points. Mitchell doesn't bend the defense to his will. Even Lopo just acknowledged that all opponents have to do is double-team him, and Mitchell can't make the offense work.

We are blaming the guy who’s getting doubled teamed for the offense not working?

Right.. so taking back Hunter, Collins, Capela, 16 and a future first still makes them a 55-win team?
