You never know what you are going to get with any draft pick. So I go into every draft with an open mind. With the 9th pick this year i look at previous 9th picks (last 15 years) and something good can come out of it.

97 - McGrady
98 - Nowitzki
99 - Marion
02 - Stoudemire
07 - Noah

I'm going to repeat what was said earlier, I'll give whomever they draft a chance before I criticize the pick.

And i think the list is indicative of the craziness that was the 2000's where every European & HS kid had "upside" with no proven record. With the new "play one year" rule, and the infatuation of the Europeans worn off a bit, the sorting will be better and the top 10 will appear more like a top 10. So i like a 9 pick at this time.

Also, a quick glance, not scientific, look at the 5-10 picks over the past years compared to 10-15's and especially 15-20's and beyond it is MUCH better to have 1 pick 5-10 than it is to have 2 picks from later in draft. (of course the debate increases if the two picks are 11 & 12 compared to 16 & 19)

One of the commonly held rules of football applies - if you have 2 quarterbacks it really means you have no quarterback. Having the 9th pick and using it appears to me to be a better spent draft than trading down and getting two.

Aim low, kids. Unless you're going for a weird last name. Then it looks pretty good.

It probably doesn't really matter who the Jazz draft. In December that guy will be packaged with Kirilenko and sent to a team that doesn't use its cap space this year for a conditional future second round pick.

This is three years of standing pat coming to an end with this pick. I feel this pick and this off season will tell us a lot about our future. There are a lot of opportunities right now I hope we take advantage of something. If all we do this off season is draft some one at 9 like aldrich and let booze walk I will be very upset.

Expect it.

Sad, but true.

God some of you are gaping vaginas.

I wish a good number of you depressed ****s would just hang yourself and get it over with.

Dude I'm feelin' ya, I mean like this 9th pick is the worst thing ever to happen to the Jazz, stupid KOC having the audacity making the trade years ago to get. Don't even get started on the draft it is the worst in NBA history everybody outside the top 3-4 is compete suck unless the Jazz could get lucky and have a pick in the 20's instead of the 9th cause the talent in the 20's is obviously better.

I think part of the reason why people are so freaked out about this draft is they know we're going to lose Boozer, so it is going to be nearly impossible to replace him via the draft. So unless we pick up a suitable replacement in free agency or a capable backup for Millsap, the team might take a slight step backward for a year or two. But I honestly think the team is going to be just fine. I can just see why people are upset.
