THat's pretty awful. At the same time defense is 70% instincts and reaction rather than a pre scripted test running around cones. Otherwise you could make the case Doug McDermott could play shooting guard with his excellent 11.10 score. Jimmer was third best at the 2011 combine at 10.42, but can't stay in front of a wooden door.

Not an excuse for anyone. Good players tend to play well, regardless of the quality of their coach. Posters on Jazzfanz have just overestimated the talent of the youth on the team.

The guy doesn't say he's agreeing on the excuse part. If anything he's pointing out the multiple standards.

The first judgement is substantially true anyway, a lousy coach makes it very difficult to evaluate players accordingly. It's true as much as your notion of "good players tend to play" is.

Blamed for what? People evaluate players based on their play. The fanboy logic is ridiculous.

Jeremy and Alec had no trouble playing well AND improving this season. Same goes for Marvin, Diante, and arguably RJ. Kanter has no one to blame for his poor play but himself.

There's a 15 page thread about Kanter in ECTYA's private forum, with the 5 (or so) regular Turkish posters taking turns piling in on Kanter. I'm sure there's plenty here on the Utah Jazz forum as well.
