What's new

Quin could decide to end 8 year tenure with Jazz according to Woj and MacMahon

Quin took the team out the gutter and turned it around. I think he could do that anywhere.

I understand new ownership wants to put their stamp on their approach and intellectually Quin may not agree. Quin would be a fantastic coach anywhere so ...what to to do. If I owned the Jazz I wouldn't want resistance to my ideas and I would be itching to try something new but at the same time I would value intelligent disagreement. I would probably move on and give Quin a consultant role with an option of coming back if the next coach is a disaster.

To be fair to Quin, I also wouldn't want to be the head coach of an organization that lets a non-top 20 player who won't be here in a couple years hold them hostage.
That's why we should trade Rudy this summer.

Quin has gotten outcoached the last couple postseasons. We do the same things over and over again, and opposing coaching staffs know how to exploit it. He doesn't know how to play promising youth to maybe provide us with another option when things get tough.

Quin isn't a bad guy, but he just hasn't gotten the job done.

If Quin wants more money or power in his next contract, he should play out his existing deal and hit the open market next summer. Not sure what he's pouting about.

When was the last time an NBA quit on account of "philosophical differences" before his contract was up?

Would be kind of interesting if the Jazz traded Quin to the Hornets in a package deal with Gobert. Jazz agree to eat Quin's contract and take back a player or pick.

This is actually really a good thing maybe. If Donovan and his team have been looking for their "out" the team changing coaches might provide some cover for them.
