Quin could decide to end 8 year tenure with Jazz according to Woj and MacMahon

On the game notes podcast Tony Jones mentioned Charles Lee, Jaque Vaughn, Terry Stotts, Johnnie Bryant, Alex Jensen, and Kenny Atkinson as guys the Jazz might be interested in should Quin decide to leave.
I’d be as excited about Jacque Vaughn as a coach as I was about him as a player every time he came to the scores table for Stockton.

I don’t know, but for those of us that have been calling for Snyder’s head, this whole debacle is annoying AF. Smith and Jazz Brass are making extension offers to make this mediocre bum one of the highest paid coaches in the league? Are you kidding me??? Any other market, and this guy is fired by now! Look around I’m not kidding. Larry Miller and Jerry Sloan both have to be rolling over in their graves!
Huge problem where ownership/FO vs. Quin sucks because both sides are so catastrophically wrong that I don’t want any part of either.

I think Quin made a monster and he lost control of it. It started with embracing the Clarkson style when we traded for him.

At the time it was great. We were coming off the Exum years when the bench was awful and everyone was kind of timid to shoot. Clarkson changed the culture in a hugely positive way. The team started taking their open shots!

But this past year it got out of hand. We stopped moving the ball. It became my turn your turn offense. Snyder lost control and by this time Donovan and his camp had gained control of the franchise. There's no taking it back with Ryan Smith coddling Mitchell's balls at eveyr moment.
He’s a softee… I mean he made LFF hats with JC… that’s some BFF friendship bracelet ****. He gets some blame and it’s odd that he gets no blame from the media for the leadership void and the team not playing the way he wanted.

Quin is someone who gets the benefit of the doubt because he sounds smart and speaks well. He's also incredibly well respected by players, coaches, and media. He's basically bulletproof, fair or not.

The only way I see them hiring Jensen is if they want to tank.

He looks like a villain too… which is cooler than most guys. I’m just having a hard time lining up that Quin has a huge offer from the Jazz… a billion offers in the nba… and doesn’t have the stones to let his players get criticized or get tough with them to get the buy in he needs. Gets his feelings hurt when fans and media don’t love everything he does… his players not buying in has him in his feelings too… I’m just out on him at this point… he might be an Xs and Os super genius… that’s only part of the job.

Yeah I’m starting to think that Smith is totally risk aversive and happy as a clam just to keep filling the seats!

Interesting interview with Tony Jones on Bill Riley's show today.

-Said that the extension the Jazz offered him is significant in terms of money.
- Quin wants some clarity in terms of how much say he would have in roster construction and decision making.
-Quin was hurt by the fact that he didn't have 100% buy-in from his roster this season, this is the first time this has happened since he's been with the Jazz. Tony says that it wasn't his fault that he didn't have complete buy-in from the roster.
-Fans have no idea how much was going on behind the scenes with this team last year and that may make Quin reluctant to come back.
-Internally the Jazz really have no idea how this is going to play out and it's just a waiting game at this point until Quin makes his decision.
We are an organization in disarray. At the Zanik end of year media availability, I thought he said there was no turmoil? Now it’s we have no idea how much turmoil there was?

First it was “expect major changes in the offseason,” now our only meaningful assets, Rudy and Don, are our “building blocks?”

Are we afoot or on horseback here? Does anyone have any idea on which way is up?

Get your **** together, dear Jazz organization.

Tony acting like it was the Arenas wizards… jebus… a couple guys in an nba locker room have an ego and Quin can’t handle it. Sorry not everyone is Ricky Rubio, Favs, and Niang. Sometimes it comes with the territory. Lolz at Tony saying none of it is stuff Quin can control or is his fault… this team takes zero ownership over anything… nothing is anything that anyone can control and no one is to blame for anything.

Bunch of ****ing softees
No accountability in this ****ing franchise. So over it. Weak *** mentality... Why couldn't my parents raise me a fan of a championship team

What they say publicly about their roster is just posturing. I think it's likely the Jazz will trade Gobert, Conley and Bogdanovic. They'll get younger, bigger and longer on the perimeter and move Mitchell to the 1.

If it were me, I'd be open to moving Donovan, but the front office is probably convincing itself that they can do this rebuild around Donovan and convince him to stay. They probably also think they can move Donovan in a year if they have to.

i fear this is probably very close to the mark. And saying Quin had no control of the no buy in thing doesn't exactly speak volumes for his people / leaderships skills. He should just hurry up and decide one way or the other
