Not sure what you do mean "they". If it's African-Americans or minorities in general, I disagree and can eloborate on how I think about it if requested.
On the other hand if it's mankind as a whole, then I agree. Recognizing patterns is a human ability that has long served various purposes of survival and efficient performance. The issue with racial bias and bias in general in the sense of prejudice is that there's no, little or faulty empathic-cognitive activity in humans before acting and reflecting on ones actions and intuition in general.

Actually these pockets would not be minimal and harmlessly isolated. If you take privilege as a problem, this is where it would remain the most ingrained. As much as people want to vilify poor rural folk as the problem, there will be a lot more mingling and interracial dealings there, then with the "progressive" set that owns summer homes in the Hamptons. That's where "homogenous," race and otherwise, pools together.

And I didn't find it logical, so I responded to it. Features don't just average out. You wouldn't eventually get a global population with homogeneous green eye color and reddish brown hair, or whatever. You'd get a global distribution of features we currently attribute to certain groups. Just how it's always happened throughout history.

I don't know why that's so upsetting.

Read it. More of an article on a blog than a study. And I don't disagree with anything in it. If everyone mixed up, you'd get all human attributes expressed globally at the level you'd expect from how dominant/recessive the gene is. And you'd have a new skin average, with variation around it. Not everyone would look the same. And not everyone looks the same in Brazil.

i.e. It would NOT stop racism. The whole thing assumes the existence of race to begin with. Since that it is not the case, this eventual future population can still be prejudiced against those with red hair or long noses or whatever. They can make their arbitrary groupings, just like we make our own.
