Please no posterizations today Gordon Hayward or scoring in general
Their defense is honestly tough af. We haven't tried too many drive and kicks either today and the few that we have were turnovers. Reporting live from the phone booth... out.
Hayward is so good. Dang.
Love it when Burke walks past half court and immediately picks up his dribble 40 ft. away from the basket.
Utah's defense is making it difficult for us to run our plays Add that to the fact that our starters barely got any rest in between quarters due to the poor play of the bench is why we are losing right now.
Do you remember the last time when Washington scored less than 40 points in the first half?
Gobert is such a force! One man defense. that dude alters f*** ut of game even if he scores nothing and grabs no boards, teams bend their offense*AWAY*from him. He’d be 1 or 2 in a re-draft, what a steal.
George Hill vs. Burke should be illegal. It’s like Tom Brady against a middle school flag football team.
Jaz are simply playing their game, and not lettign us play ours...we need to add pace, it's too slow right now..
Can you imagine if we had Joe Johnson? You could literally pick the name of a Jazz bench player out of a hat, and any one of them would transform our entire team.
Utah completely owns the painted areas of the floor on both ends. the court has shrunk tremendously for washington
The team is getting killed on the glass, in the paint, and out blocked 10-0
Gobert and Favors are pushing Gortat around like he's a little kid.
We're not really sucking as much as Gobert is shutting us down. He's a defensive monster
Oh **** Joe Johnson is still in the league?
Hayward with the dagger
Their defense is scary
Gordon just killed all hopes of a comeback.
Low score, perfect Utah tempo. At least Mahinmi is making his presence known on D.
Burke is killing the 2nd unit. Literally can't do anything. This is all Burke lol. Just horrible. He's not a NBA player at all. Come on brooks
BTW, John should not throw an ally-oop when Gobert is in the game. Kind of dumb and he's attempted two.
It's not just Gobert. He's the linchpin, but the entire team plays excellent D. They rotate well. They anticipate passing lanes; they're handsy when defending the pick and roll. Multiple players have a good nose for the ball. I can see why they determined that Trey "Olé" Burke wasn't a good fit for their identity.
When Utah is on their game they are not fun to play. This game has been brutal.
Hayward is nice. Respect.
Gobert is the best center in the league. A huge impact player.
Getting out rebounded by 20 or whatever it is has nothing to do with rotations though, the team is being out hussled. John is playing some lazy basketball today.
They are a good team and we are soft down low.
man Gobert was the MVP for the game....i know hayword had his moments, but gobert won this for them w/ his D
Never play Burke again. you dont like the drive, step back, jump in the air, have no where to go and throw the ball away trey burke special? Jazz were like, hell yeah, it's about time we benefit from how bad this guy is
Jazz are pretty much built to stop a team like the Wizards. We rely on dribble penetration
Gobert is a specimen, he covers a 15ft radius and alters/shuts down any action going towards the basket.
Gobert is too much for us
Give the Jazz credit, the reason they are able to stay home on shooters is because Gobert is the rare big man
that doesn’t need help in the paint. No one on his team worries about helping on dribble penetration John draws help defense in 99% of the games we play, that’s why our offense has been so good this season. But that won’t work against this Utah team’s D
Jazz were clearly a better team today. I was amazed how Gordon Hayward's hair stayed perfect all game!
Wizards got schooled on how to play solid defense.*
The Wizards returned home for the first time in nearly two weeks, but lost to a tough Jazz team on Sunday, 102-92. Utah led by as many as 24 and outrebounded Washington 52-27 in what a was commanding win for the Jazz.
The good news is that most teams don't have the 4/5 combo to punish our undersized 4/5 the way the Jazz have done tonight.*
Utah is a damn good team
I'm absolutely sick of seeing Burke pound the hell out of the rock and then throw up some rubbish with nothing left on the shot clock.
Burke is an abomination. Someone lock him a cage and send him to Russia as a DC peace offering to Putin.*
We played like a finesse team tonight. Frankly, we play like a finesse team most nights, but in today's NBA, it hasn't hurt us. But finesse teams rarely get calls against physical teams. And Utah is *extremely* physical. Punishing screens. Grabby defenders. Brutish bigs. Multiple players who can initiate contact on offense and draw fouls. Multiple players who can punish mismatches in the post.*
Gobert overwhelms Wizards with size Marcin Gortat*and*Ian Mahinmi*were supposed to counter each other. When Gortat struggled to guard lanky, athletic centers, Mahinmi would relieve him. But that hasn’t been the case. Both players were abused by*Rudy Gobert‘s length. Gobert scored 15 points and grabbed 20 rebounds. He made 11 of his 14 free throw attempts. Washington, as a team, got to the line 13 times.
Outrebounded by 25. It is almost impossible to overcome that. Our frontcourt got punk'd in every way.*
