Great thing about rudy is that even if doesn't improve any more at all he is still better than many starting centers in the league

I agree. I really don't see him ever become an offensive threat but he changes the game so much on D already that even if he doesn't improve at all he will still help get us to the Finals in a couple of years.

If he would just catch and hold onto the ball he would have 2-3 more baskets a game.

That's a serious undersell. Rudy is probably a top 5 center.

Exactly. We are very lucky to have Rudy even if this is as good as he gets.

(I have always said that his passion, attitude, and work ethic are my favorite things about him so I'm confident he will improve..... Allot)

Rudy is becoming an elite passer. That is a huge improvement.

I think he is becoming a good passer, not close to being elite. He has the vision and the want to make passes, but his timing and accuracy is often off.

To go along with the theme of the original post in this thread, my friend who is a life long warriors fan sent me these texts:

Jazz r very good And very young! I think they could be a top four team in western conference by end of the year
I can. They r good. The teams that give the Warriors the most trouble are ones that are deep. Jazz have a lot of good young players.

They have a really really good young team. Losing Exum sucked, but they are pretty deep. If one of the young players can rise up to be that superstar level, they will be great

It's good to see opposing teams fans see the greatness in the jazz

Yeah that's true. But when it is on he looks amazing. That's why I said he is becoming elite. It's really hit or miss, but when he figures out timing it will be great.

It also seems to go hand in hand with him catching the ball, hopefully he will just get more coordinated and improve in both areas.

Some of the critiques of Rudy on this thread seem exceptionally repugnant. Clearly he needs to improve his game, but what exactly are the expectations here? Is he behind on some imaginary schedule?

Rudy needs to be able to impose his will offensively against small-ball PFs at some point or he is going to be the wrong kind of anchor in the modern NBA.

My only major complaint. There's time.

Well, we almost beat the best small-ball team out there last night. To me, that was an excellent sign. I have been worried that the Jazz might be making a huge fundamental mistake going Big Ball, but last night showed it can work.

Improve the PG play (Exum!?!?), add a 3 and D guy, get the 3 headed monster Hay/Burks/Hood to mesh better and look out.

I would pump the brakes on proclamations after a regular-season game against a team already firmly in control of a 1st seed, know exactly who they are, can turn it on and off at will, after losing (let's try to remember that) at home to them. That's why Steph and Draymond were 'laughing their asses off' reading (Jazz fan) tweets. The Jazz and any other team in the league would clearly do well to share traits with the Warriors, because what they do obviously works.

You want your players to win their mismatches. Gobert often doesn't. I love him. All I'm saying is it's an important thing and the Jazz aren't that close. Maybe the thing that could fundamentally change how far this team can go is if Gobert could score against a pole in the post, because that's what a person that weighs at least 20 pounds less than him and gives up 6" of reach and/or height should be to him. I think he can improve because I know he should and I believe in him.

There were a lot of differences between the Warriors and Jazz last night, but the ability to exploit mismatches was one of the areas we lacked and they excelled.

I think our overall talent level is close to GS, just in different ways. I love how the GS philosophy is to get 30 assists per game. Thier unselfish play and ball movement is what makes them so difficult to guard. Utah used to do that.

Well Rudy talks about wanting to be the best player in the NBA, so certain expectations come when you say those kind of things.

Would have liked to have seen this on our last possession.

I wonder if part of the problem is Rudy's height and the passer getting the ball where Rudy needs it.
