As for owners, they need to #1 make sure they work together to provide the product. Look at MLB, they cant figure it out. If the NBA product succeeds, the players get paid at the highest rate possible and then their communities see improvements. It goes without saying that the owners should do their own to use their original source of wealth to improve the community. They aren't wealthy because the NBA.

They should also plan with the players and allow the players to show support of BLM without repercussions…

Also, Lebron catches so much ****... dude has been a great ambassador to the game, an amazing father, and has done a ton in the community. All while being in the brightest of spotlights since he was a teenager. He's so impressive man... that's why I give him the benefit of the doubt on the China debacle. I've always been a fan and never got the hate. Love watching that guy play. I hate the Lakers but honestly I'm cool with them winning a title. They way I like to think of it is that the true Laker truthers are secretly anti-Lebron because of their Kobe worship.
 
Kyrie is just such a weird dude and I just don't feel like I can ever trust him.

That is probably a good way to put it... smartest man in the room syndrome.

Matt Barnes had a quote about him today... basically stop your ********. I loved Perkins quote yesterday... about not talking about being willing to do something... if you are willing then just friggin do it. I think guys have him figured out now.
 
Here is one thing that kinda concerns me about the return specifically as it relates to the Jazz.

I think DM is pretty concerned about his extension... Locke seems to have indicated he might be worried about injury... DM's quote on the insurance was mentioned... I wonder if we see him be cautious or possibly sit out. I get it... its generational money, so he needs to take care of himself. It kinda bummed me out that it could be possible.

I always liked those guys... except when we had to play them. The language might be too much for me... half the time my kids are around. I've liked Barnes on the jump and other ESPN stuff. They are straight shooters.
 
Barnes is also very anti-Fisher... which of course means he is alright by me.
 


Alright so we find out in the next week who is and isn't playing. I think there is a legit chance that DM doesn't play... would lose 8.5% of his salary (not sure if playoff games are factored in). So he'd lose $300k... signing like a $150M contract in the offseason is likely more important than trying to sneak out of the first round with our hobbled team.

Why do you think there's a legit chance he doesn't play? Anything beyond what we know?

Just the tea leaves... He has more to lose and it is a major inconvenience. The monetary penalty in his case is minor. He brought up the insurance question on the players call.... Ed brought up his contract in his comments.... I just think its kinda out there.

I won't blame him if he chooses to not play. Losing $400K (less after taxes) isn't a big deal... I think he probably wants to play and its a bad look if he doesn't play... but it might be a smart move.
