Readjusted /revamped expectations after one game

Hood isn't a bad defender and is certainly better than Burks on d.

Hood is a bad defender. Both he and Burks scored a -0.9 DBPM last season, and Rodney had a worse defensive rating than Alec, clear up there at 107 (thats pretty bad... that's the same D Rtg as Enes Kanter last season)

Lot's of reasons. Their MPG, Jazz lineups (their role), intensity and competition levels have gone up. I try not to take 1 game and make that a solid predictor of future success or failure. Let's see what they do on the road and with a tougher team.

You don't think the nuggets are a good team. I saw them as a sure lotto team, but after that game I'm not sure it's a sure thing they are a lotto team. Burks and Favors are part of why we won that game after the nuggets dominated for almost three quarters. Maybe Burks should've played more minutes. If Quin wanted to start Burks over Hood, I'd be fine with it, honestly, in my eyes Hood has more to prove then Burks does.

I never said the Nuggets were a lotto team. At most I said that I think the Wolves are a better team than the Nuggets. I agree that Hood has a lot to prove this season. Burks over Hood at this point seems rather silly. If anything your post only backs up my point of let's give this some games and see what develops. Who rises and who doesn't.

I've been a major Burks doubter, he plays selfish unsmart basketball, but I'm giving him a chance if he's making buckets. It's put up or shut up time for Alec.
He has never played selfishly if selfish in this instance means ball hogging.

Go back over his career stats year by year and you will find that he is never near the top on the team in field goal attempts even when accounting for his lower minutes played by using per 36 numbers.
And remember that for a lot of his career he was supposed to be the scorer off the bench. Meaning he should, by design, take lots of shots per minute played. Yet still didnt.
It's a myth that he is a ball hog/chucker/black hole.

Poor defender? Sure. Bad shot selection? Yup. Low IQ player? Fine.
Selfish? Nope.

My expectations are that this team is better than last years team. That still stands.

Although I still think losing Exum for the year is a bummer and will hurt the team a bit, but not that much as long as Burks and Mitchell stay relatively healthy. Although I dont think Mitchell is a good PG and is better suited at SG and Exum is better suited at PG. But it did clear up playing time for Burks and maybe for Mitchell that would have been hard to get all three minutes. It seems 1 of those three is not going to be here after this season.

Favors is still going to be a tough one. I think he will play very well this year and hopefully stay healthy. But he is a UFA which is scary for this team. Although Favors likes stability so he might just opt to stay for a decent deal again. I think he averages about 15 points, 7 boards and 3 assists.

Didn't say he should, but if Quin chose to do so, I'd be fine.

Fair enough. I think he will keep Hood in the starting lineup for now. I wonder how Mitchell will factor into all that as well. he did go with Mitchell to start over Burks.

That's because Burks role is defined as the #1 option in the second unit. I would've done the same thing. Players like Burks, who are talented enough to be starters, but don't complain about not starting are valuable assets

The #1 option off the bench gets 15 minutes?

Mitchell is going to be the #1 option off the bench.

It had nothing to do with Burk's play as far I saw ,he excelled and Mitchell hasn't shown he deserves to be #1 scoring option off the bench or be anointed on potential.
