Real Expectations

One huge fact to keep in mind right now. Teams are getting blown out left and right so far. Just look at the scores from the last 4 days. ****, look at Dallas. We're bad, but we're not the only team getting housed right now.

I am one that has been vocal (or at least I feel like I have been). This is my problem, during the lockout I was always saying to play the young guys a ton of minutes. I was always told that doing that would create a "losing" culture. How is losing two games in a row by nearly 20 points each time creating a "winning" culture. Bench the vets. GM's know what they are going to get from the vets so benching them for the purpose of getting experience to the young guys.

I know that this is ranting a little bit but I am certainly ok with losing if Favors and Hayward are playing 30+ minutes and Kanter and Burks are getting 20+ minutes. Anything else is unacceptable.

Yeah but we are getting the worst of it. Dead last in point differential per game (-21).

I'm with everyone on wanting to see minutes managed more effectively. I know at lot has to do with the blowout losses/garbage time, fouls, etc but we have nobody getting 30+ minutes a game.
Minute distribution:
Al Jefferson: 55 min/27.5 a game
Gordon Hayward: 51 min/25.5 a game
Paul Millsap: 49 min/24.5 a game
Devin Harris: 47 min/23.5 a game
Raja Bell: 44 min/22 a game
Josh Howard: 42 min/21 a game
CJ Miles: 39 min/19.5 a game
Earl Watson: 37 min/18.5 a game
Derrick Favors: 35 min/17.5 a game
Enes Kanter: 35 min/17.5 a game
Jeremy Evans: 18 min/9 a game
Alec Burks: 15 min/7.5 a game
Jamaal Tinsley: 12 min/6 a game

Biggest problem is Bell and Burks. Burks has twice the points Bell does in 1/3 of the minutes!

For the sake of optimism, I see some amazing trends already. Raja Bell's minutes are going down, while Alec Burks are steadily increasing. Burks is using the extra minutes to increase his production every game so far.

I'm not sure how anyone's minutes can be steadily increasing after 2 games. He played more in game two than game one, but I'm not sure that really an indication that Corbin is going to continue that trend. If we're in a close game I doubt Burks gets more than 10 minutes.

As long as the injuries are kept to a minimum I think Real should have a good season.
I expect them to be in contention for the Supporter's shield, as well as the MLS Cup.

I don't think many people expected the Jazz to compete for a championship this year.

However, I believe most people expected to be able to stay competitive.

Being blown out and looking like crap both offensively and defensively in 3 out of 4 games is completely unacceptable. This needs to change if we hope to take any positive this year.

Jazz fans are loyal and understanding despite what some people say. Most are rational. Expectations are right on. Expecting a win against a depleted Lakers team that had played in the previous 2 nights wasn't exactly going out on a limb.

Jazz fans will understand if we lose EVERY SINGLE GAME this year as long as we remain competitive and see improvement. What we won't stand for is a coach who looks like he doesn't know what the hell he's doing, post players who don't post up, pass, or have any toughness, guard play that is utterly pathetic, and collective efforts that make Greg Ostertag look like Karl Malone.
