RealGM Inspired ???s

What? At even odds? WTF! I guess since their announcers and beat writers think it it's only normal for their fans to follow suit. Might need to revive the Fiesta of delusion thread...
Yep its even odds..... It's only for 10 bucks though.
I couldn't get him to go any higher so I guess he isn't a complete idiot

Burks is more mature. Hood is more mature. We're not relying on Burke to do much. We're pushing early offense and scoring off our defense. Favors is focused on being a full-time PF. Gobert is going to get some buckets.

I think the offense will be fine. But yeah, we need to rely on Hayward less to create in the half court.

I have a bet with a co worker on who will have more wins out of the jazz or Lakers lol.
Easy money
Playing basketball with a Knicks fan last night he argued for 20 minutes that the Knicks would win more games and were a better team. His only reason was they have Crymello, who he adamantly insisted was one of the 5 best players in the league. I and my other buddy couldn't stop laughing.

Over on RealGM I read some comments and wanted to know what my fellow Jazz fans think.

One is that some posters expected the Jazz to be roughly the same on O this season because Hayward doesn't have any help on that end.

Another comment was that the Jazz don't have any players that are that good at ball handling and that will cost them the playoff spot.

thoughts?

Point 1: The obvious improvement on O this year is the addition of Burks. Then there is the fact that Favors had improved his scoring average every year. Gobert gets better and better all the time on that end as well. Hood's foot injuries held him back for a lot of last season, so he will be more productive. Also, scoring is not just about the starters, we are deeper than last year and our bench will be able to score with Hayward off the floor. And then there is the fact we run an offense based on passing, not iso plays, so even tho Hayward was our top scorer, he wasn't our first option.

Point 2: For all the criticism Burke gets on this board, I don't think anyone has ever accused him of having bad handles. Neto seems to have good control too, likewise Cotton if he returns, so that's the PG position covered. On the wing, Burks, Hayward, Hood and Ingles are all more than capable ball-handlers. However, I'm guessing this statement really means "the Jazz don't have any one-on-one iso players", in which case, see the first and last sentences of my rebuttal of point 1.

Our offense will be better. It's hard to say how much better, but it will be better. I think the first two preseason games have shown glimmers. Individually, I expect Hayward, Favors, Hood, and Burks to take steps forward offensively.

Ball handling isn't a strength, but it won't be what costs us a playoff spot (if we miss out). --I wish we had one more quality bench piece who could score in bunches. That's what might cost us.

Shimmering glimpses?

Offense will be better than last year. Ball handling is whatever. Offense next year with Exum back should be pretty efficient. I bet after Exum gets back we become a top ten offensive team to go along with the best defense in the league . This year hopefully our offense is close to top half of the league or better .

Jazz offense will be better invariably because the players will be more adapted to the system, the system will be more adapted to them, and everyone will have more experience together. Add in the likely-scenario where the Jazz have more games with Burks (and probably/hopefully Hood) and the offense should be noticeably improved.

This also assumes, of course, that Trey Burke doesn't find a way to ruin it. Dante Exum wasn't very good, Trey just needs to figure that part out and we may be good.

I think our O SHOULD be better this year, especially with Burks back. I mean, the PG position was a moot point anyway, right?
